Level 5 Sport & Remedial Massage Therapist - all appointments in your own home. Aston Rowant, Oxon
As most of you know, I was away last week supporting big bro in his 8th Masters appearance⛳️
Wednesday afternoon saw me get a new job role when Tyrrell allowed me to join him for the par 3 contest. It was an amazing experience, but safe to say I won’t be challenging anyone for a permanent caddy position😂Handing him his putter and putting it away again was the full extent of my help🤣

Had a great day of learning on Saturday with adding a new string to my bow🏹
Taping & strapping is generally used to provide support and protection to a joint or ligament that has been injured. This can be to prevent excessive movement, or to offload the tendon/ligament to allow it to begin healing.
Some common problems that taping can benefit:
❤️🩹Plantar fasciitis
❤️🩹Ankle sprain
❤️🩹Shin splints
❤️🩹Knee ligament sprain
❤️🩹Shoulder instability
To name a few😏
New Year, new wax💁🏼♀️
I was very excited to find this delivery waiting for me when I got home yesterday
Just in time for me to get back to work after the Christmas break! This should keep me going for a little while😁
I got a variety of ‘flavours’, so hopefully there will be something for everyone;
🐝 Revived - a citrus scented wax that’ll leave you feeling energised and revive the senses.
🐝 Chilled - this wax has a slight oriental fragrance; a combination of sweet orange, ylang ylang and patchouli will help you relax and unwind.
🐝 Sensitive - an unscented wax, nut & essential oil free. Ideal for those that suffer from eczema or other dry skin conditions.
🐝 Sporty - an unscented wax containing essential oils specifically for tired and overworked muscles.
Tis’ the season 🎄
For massage at home🏠

My last weekend slot before Christmas is Saturday 16th at 10am - so be quick if you’d like it🚨
So, light your favourite winter spice candles, turn on your festive lights, and enjoy your massage surrounded by your own home comforts💆🏼♀️

Sharing a personal win for the week…
Most of my clients will be well aware of Doctor, since he’s my pride and joy - so I thought it about time that he makes an appearance on the page😋
On wet & windy Thursday, Doccy and I went out to contest my first Advanced dressage test. AKA, my first time wearing a tailcoat😁
Despite the poor weather, he was such a good boy. I’m incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful horse🥰 and it went so well, we’ve proved ourselves as competent to move up to the next level - PSG (Prix St Georges)🍾🥳
A question I get a lot - how should I dress for my massage?
Here are some tips:
- Wear comfortable (and warm, given the time of year) clothes, you’ll generally remove items of clothing depending on the areas being worked on.
- Remove loose fitting jewellery such as necklaces, to prevent any damage or interference with the massage. Wedding bands and stud earrings are generally fine to leave in.
- Ladies - a ‘regular’ bra with a clasp at the back, rather than a pull over sports bra.
- Tie long hair up. I do my best to avoid getting massage wax in your hair. However, it’s usually slightly inevitable if I work on your neck. (So save your hair wash for after the appointment😋)
If you have any other questions prior to your appointment, just send me a message!

Thank you so much for your lovely review! I absolutely love what I do, and reading feedback like this always puts a smile on my face.
Dan has been with me since the very beginning - an OG, if you will - and is still a regular face that I see. I think it would be fair to say, on a few occasions over the past 18months, when I’ve seen his name pop up on my phone, my first question was;
“What have you done now?” 😂
Hopefully, the days of stairs related injuries are behind us, and 🤞 it’s just maintenance from now on🤪
As a small business owner, I can’t tell you enough how thankful we are to receive a google/Facebook review. Leaving one is an amazing way to help out, and to make it even better…it’s free!
So, if you can spare a few minutes of your time to leave a review for your favourite small business - I know the owner would be so grateful💝

Typically a term associated with dating in the colder months, but I’m referring to the rotator cuff.
I’ve been treating a LOT of people lately with shoulder issues. Some sporting related - typically sports with repetitive overhead movements such as cricket and swimming, and others caused by their job.
If you’ve been struggling with shoulder pain that’s;
⚡️Making it difficult to change gear
⚡️Waking you up at night when you roll onto that side
⚡️Giving you limited and painful mobility

⭐️ Fun Fact Friday⭐️
It’s true!
I thought I’d do a post about it as it seems to come as a bit of a surprise to most clients I’ve been discussing it with recently.
The Gastocnemius & Soleus muscles are both in the calf. The Soleus is hidden away underneath the Gastrocnemius - so that’s the one you can see or feel if you poke it👉🏻 but they both join together and share the same tendon, which is the Achilles!
Given that they both originate in slightly different places and therefore have different actions, they need to be targeted in different ways.
A ‘normal’ calf raise done with straight legs will target the Gastrocnemius.
Whereas, a calf raise done entirely with bent knees will target the Soleus - give this one a try and see how different it is!
P.S it’s a slightly strange feeling and a conscious effort to keep the knees bent throughout, but roll with it😆
Let me know what you thought about differences👇🏻
💡 A question I get asked a lot…
The simple answer is, as often as you feel you need one💆🏼♀️
Although, it’s not really a question I like to answer or be responsible for putting a time frame on - generally speaking that is, as opposed to treating someone for a specific injury/complaint.
It’s not a one size fits all and there are a few things to consider;
1. Everybody’s financial situation is very different, and only you know what’s in your budget
2. How much the benefits are worth to you
3. Variable factors such as stress level, fitness, lifestyle and overall state of health
For ‘maintenance’ purposes, the norm would be a massage appointment on a monthly basis.
But, I also have people that I see weekly, fortnightly, 6-weekly and then everything in between.
So there really is no right or wrong!
You know your body the best, and only you know how it’s really feeling. So, the most qualified person to decide how often you need one, is YOU!
Buuuut…my one piece of advice would be;
Don’t leave it too long or wait until there’s a problem.
Sports massage is beneficial for everyone; elite athletes to someone struggling with the balance of raising a child alongside a 9-5 job😵💫
Do you often wake up with neck pain that makes checking your blind spot while driving difficult?
Suffer from regular headaches?
Get shoulder pain that distracts you during the day?

Happy Monday😁
I’ve been pretty quiet on here lately as moving house and the horses has been quite the ordeal😵💫 but all is sorted so peace has been restored🙏🏼
I’ve had a super busy day with doing 4 horses AM &PM, my lovely dressage horse having a massage of his own (not from me), and treating 3 clients - 2 of whom were new. It was a mixed bag of issues today, mostly caused by varying occupational factors, but also helping to reduce pain and improve joint mobility after a bad cycling accident.
If you’re struggling with pain or limited movement, get in touch to see how I can help💆🏼♀️
🗓️ April is move more month, did you know that?
And as if by magic🪄it’s also stress awareness month…the two of them just go hand in hand!🤝🏻
Regular activity or exercise is not just important for your physical health, but also your mental health. Give those hormones a shake up and invite some ‘feel good’ ones to the party🎊
I know the weather has been a little hit and miss, but the forecast tells me the worst is behind us and brighter days are coming(🤞🏻)
So, what are you going to do to get more active this April, here are a few ideas:
▪️ join a Pilates class - some are even held virtually!
▪️ take a walk on your lunch break🚶🏻♂️
▪️ get back into that old hobby you’ve been thinking about💃🏼🕺🏼
▪️use the stairs instead of the lift
▪️ go swimming with a friend 🏊♀️
💫Friday afternoon setup💫
Ft my . The Zest and Orange Spice scents are my fave🤤
bolster & fleecy couch cover, a little sad that it’s still needed in April🫣 but will be kept in the bag as long as necessary!
Myofascial dry cupping kit - which I couldn’t be without🙌🏻
Only one appointment left next week, Tuesday 18th at 1:30pm. Get in touch if you’d like it💆🏼♀️
Who else agrees?🙋🏼♀️
There’s still time to get your name in the Easter draw💆🏼♀️
🐣Go go go!!
🏃🏻♂️Are you a runner?🏃🏼♀️
Whether you run for enjoyment, are training for an event, or do it just to get those steps in. Don’t leave it until an injury pops up to start factoring recovery into your training⚠️
Getting a regular massage can help keep those hard working muscles in good condition. Not only does it help with recovery, it also reduces your risk of injury by making sure you’re still able to move through your full range.
Look after your body now and you’ll thank yourself later✌🏻

Have you remembered that the clocks “spring forward” tonight?
Research has shown that losing just one hour of sleep may cause you to eat an extra 200 calories the next day😱 that’s not from reaching for the fruit bowl either, it’s largely fat and carb heavy foods🥓🍿🍕
Sleep well all✌🏻
💡This really made me think about how we take the little things for granted! It’s such a small thing but really was great feedback and did put a smile on my face😄
I received this email from my lovely 72yo client, who in a short matter of months has gone from being one of the most active people I know, to scaling right down due to bad hip pain. After X-rays and seeing a consultant, he’s been diagnosed an osteoarthritis and is waiting for surgery.
I treat him weekly to keep him as pain free and mobile as possible. While he can’t play squash anymore, he is now able to enjoy his two walks a day again (and is almost hitting the old 4mph pace😛). Which is great for mind and body💪🏼
*Apparently* we’ve climbed over the winter hurdle and entered Spring time🌼
Could’ve fooled me…🌧️☔️🫣
