💆🏼‍♀️ Yesterday evening it was my turn for a treatment with Springform Sports Massage Therapy!💆🏼‍♀️

As per usual Catherine spent the majority of the time working on my left shoulder which had a cluster of knots🫣 after a good nights sleep, my wonky shoulders are already feeling so much straighter and even but I’ll update properly after I’ve schooled Cali again! We just went for a chilled stroll this morning to wake us both up🥶

Now that we’re both in sync with our treatments, here’s to us being the dream team at our upcoming comps🤩💪🏻

🦄 Cali and I went for a quick spin at Belmoredean Dressage in preparation for the Area Festival Championships this weekend🤪

It’s safe to say that with her break from competing after Home Nations, she hasn’t forgotten what to do! Strutting her stuff at another new venue with two respectable scores of 67.61% and 67.4% coming 1st and 4th 🤩

First time wearing my new Equestrian Collective competition tights and my goodness can you tell - I felt I was blinding everyone in the warmup they’re so white😅 super comfy with a sticky bum too!

It’s 1st October, which means for those of us in the UK, the natural light has been turned off and the big tap in the sky has been left on 🌧️ (see pic 1: idyllic October. Pic 2: the reality of outdoor sports 🥲)
As a sports massage therapist dealing with individual clients and teams, it’s always a funny time of year as some of us are coming to the end of our competition season, if not already finished (with a sigh of relief 😅), whereas others are just beginning theirs. And then there’s the hardcore sports which go all year round (horse riders, I’m looking at you 👀)
The type of training we do during the autumn/winter months ultimately changes depending on whether we’re on or off season. However, in order to come back strong and mobile, or to get through this challenging competition season and in one piece, I highly recommend planning & discussing your winter season plans to be ready and rearing to go 💪🏻

For several years now as I’ve acted as the Internal Quality Assurance lead for the now Level 4 Equine Sports Massage Diploma.

I really believe in this course and would recommend it to anyone who’s serious about getting a high quality foundation in hands on body work and truly understanding equine anatomy and physiology.

It’s wonderful that there is so much access to on-line knowledge, but there is nothing like being face to face with each other and having a real life horse in front of you. The long standing course tutor - Helen Tompkins from Animal Therapy Solutions - has fought hard to keep this course running primarily ‘in person’ and I admire her greatly for it.

When it comes to assuring the quality of therapists and what they will take out into the world, I too believe this has to be done ‘in real life’ and I am proud to be a part of this course.

Good luck to this years intake of new students, and I know it will be worth all your efforts.

💆🏼‍♀️ On Monday I had a post competition treatment with Springform Sports Massage Therapy to help me recover from a very busy month of competitions as well as to loosen me up ready for Home Nations this weekend!

As always Catherine worked on my tight muscles across my shoulders and back. She also went a bit deeper in my lats to see if there was any tightness there which was causing my wonky shoulders😅 Since my treatments my shoulders have been so much straighter and I feel so much more even all over so I thoroughly recommend Catherine!

Cali and I had a lesson this morning and I felt so much looser and more supple through my back which is exactly what we’re aiming for. We only had a very short session as Cali is (understandably!) getting a bit fed up of all the dressage we’ve been doing, and unfortunately we didn’t manage to get any content to share either!🙈

A huge thank you to Catherine and I will keep you all posted on how Cali and I get on this weekend post treatment! Go team green!💚

🦄 Consistent Cali is back with a bang🤩 after a couple of unusually spicy competitions, Cali is back to being her normal self just in time for a fantastic Petplan Area Festivals Area Festival at Speedgate today!

Over the moon with her performance today, winning the Prelim with a whopping 71.18% and coming 10th in the Novice with a personal best of 67.43%🥂 so incredibly proud of this pony, coming 1st in the prelim means we have qualified for champs!!! Woohoo!!

Huge well done to everyone who competed today, you were all fab! Massive thank you to everyone who supported us today and huge shoutout to Springform Sports Massage Therapy for being a huge support and chief photographer!
