My soulmate Michelle happens to be half Japanese, and half Yorkshire but that's another story. We were also lucky to visit her family earlier this year and I've been anticipating what Encore's chefs could do with a menu inspired by the land of the rising sun.

I must admit I was skeptical when my Chef first proposed tweaking our most popular braised beef dish to feature such a niche cut of beef but our guests are loving it's rich, tender and juicy lips smacking loveliness!

Putting the "F" in Frickles!

What are Frickles? Many guests have asked and I had to ask as well when I saw the first draft of this exciting and tasty new dish. It works equally well as an appetiser to share, a starter, or as a perfect side to any main course.

Letter from the owner...

Dear Guests, I have been largely absent from the operations of Encore for a long time now. This has been due to ill health but I am pleased to inform you all I am back and will be here to personally ensure your Encore experience will be special every visit and will once again leave every guest feeling like a V.I.P. Soup, soup a tasty soup!

It may not be the most exciting thing to have but if done well it sure can be tasty. Not something many people will do from scratch at home and tinned or fancy cartons are just not the same but when great ingredients are married with time and love it's just a warm liquid hug in a bowl. A great soup soup is a taste sensation and packed full of goodness.
