Patients who have borrowed mobility equipment are being urged to return it when it’s no longer needed.
Crutches, walking frames or sticks are some of the items loaned to people following surgery or during a period of rehab. Many items haven’t been returned and are now needed for other patients.
Each item of equipment is deep cleaned, checked and maintained or repaired before being issued again to another patient to prevent stocks running low.
Patients in north Essex should return to the Physiotherapy Department, Gainsborough Wing, Colchester Hospital.
Patients in east Suffolk can return items to the blue equipment recycling bin by Entrance 6 at Ipswich Hospital or through Medequip - you can contact them for a free collection by calling 01473 351805 or emailing [email protected]. You can also drop items back to Medequip’s depot, Unit 31, Bluestem Road, Ransomes Europark, Ipswich, IP3 9RR.
