July 2022 is Good Care Month and a celebration of carers across the country!

At Sonderwell, we provide expert carers, support workers, and nurses to provide health and social care support to people and their families living at home. Deafblindness is a combination of both vision and hearing loss that affects your capacity for mobility, communication, and information access. It affects people in different ways.

Age is the main factor in deafblindness because as we age, our hearing and sight deteriorate. Hearing and vision loss can also be brought on by some diseases, such Usher Syndrome. Someone holding a white cane with red stripes, or an assistance dog with a red and white harness - means that the person has both hearing and vision problems.

June 20 – 26th is Learning Disability Week and this week’s theme chosen by Mencap, is ‘Living Life with a Learning Disability’.

Lockdown and Covid severely affected many people both physically
and mentally. Mencap wants to discuss the challenges many people with learning disabilities still face despite COVID limits being lifted. Challenges such as still having to isolate or suffering from poor mental health and anxiety.

June is Pride Month since it was during this month that the Stonewall riots occurred. The Stonewall riots were significant protests in the United States in 1969 that changed gay rights for many individuals in the United States and throughout the world.

Pride is a celebration of individuals coming together in love and camaraderie to highlight how far lgbtqia+ rights have progressed and how much work remains in some areas.
