Thursday 5th September 2024 - Catering - Roast Dinner Day
Today in catering we all worked as a team to make a roast pork meal for our lunch. We worked on different catering skills including peeling and chopping vegetables. As well as how to prepare food hygienically and how to clear up as we used lots of pots and pans! Everyone enjoyed their lunch. Great effort by everyone!
Thurs 5th Sept *Employability Skills*
A successful first day for the Employability Skills group. After a group ideas workshop, we enquired about volunteering opportunities far and wide, sent applications/emails, and approached organisations directly. A great starting point for the group 😄

This morning we spent some time preparing some tasty snacks for the animals over at Wellies-On.
In the afternoon we headed out to the farm, fed the animals and took Aurora and Twyla the sheep out for their walk!
Thursday 4th September
Making art ...
Today was an introduction to wool and sheep..we felt, smelt all the different wooltop. ( The wool after fleece and before spinning) then made our own collages. Next stop an afternoon stroll and drink .
Wednesday 4th Sept *Digital Art 1* diving deeper into our understanding of Coding, trying out games, command instruction activities, finished off with a stroll by Brightlingsea beach 😊
Wednesday 4th September, Working with Art - Intro session. Today we learnt about wool and sheep and started work on sheepy collages. We also decided to work on a Rebel Badge - Entrepreneur. We can work on this alongside making our products for sale.
Independent Living group. Working on personal care and hygiene for the next few weeks. We went and got our toiletries today and started to focus on the things that are important for us.

We have had a lovely day. The guys enjoyed the walk along river from Riverside leisure to explore shops. Some purchases made after a mini meeting at the Tiptree Café for something sweet.
We had another walk back to Riverside to sit outside and enjoy our later lunch. Returned back to CoCo with three happy people.

Today 2 groups joined forces to learn about different ways to save water and reduce rubbish. In the afternoon we went bowling and enjoyed a drink and chat afterwards.

SA1 travelled into the city by tube today, to start a treasure trail around St Kathryn's Dock and the Tower today. We had a great time! Back in a couple of weeks to complete it!
The CoCoCollective had a fabulous day out at Young V&A today, visiting the Japan: Myths to Manga exhibition which will inspire us in our next artwork!
The CoCoCollective are at this morning, investigating the work of Lucy Harwood and other artists. Drawing these paintings helped us to look and really see the colours, textures, imagery and picture composition that the artists used.
Today we a presenting at the SEND FORWARD event at Colchester Rugby Club, lots of other providers here so come down and see us.
Come along Saturday 9th December to have a nosy at all the studios at 37 Queen Street, where the CoCoCollective are based. This is where our fabulous artwork happens.
Come along to our festive activities. On Saturday 2nd December we have a wreath making workshop (can be booked through Eventbrite or email [email protected]) and a games night with a quiz on the 9th of December.
Tomorrow is our open day! 😀 Running from 11am till 8pm, meet staff and our customers, find out more about us. We have a some activities to take part in and our wonderful catering group are putting tasty refreshments together for you. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow 😄
