Andrew Robinson has been drinking coffee from a very young age. Whilst living in Austria for almost ten years he has always been a kind cyclist and was constantly surround by older more mature cyclists who enjoyed a good coffee and cake stop whilst out on their training rides.

So at the age of 16 when we moved back to Northern Ireland he started to draw up ideas on where, how and when he could start his coffee business.

At the start of May 2018 he opened the “Coffee Hut” in the beautiful seaside village of Castlerock. His ideas and design features of the Coffee Hut draw from his experiences living in Europe. His unique little beach hut is designed in a “Hygge” cosy style theme inside and and out providing that essential homely feeling inside and a touch of relaxing holiday feeling when sitting outside.

His concept was ......“Kiss” Keep it Simple Stupid...... Source and serve only the best award winning coffee, cakes, buns, artisan breads from wee Northern Ireland.
The most important part of a coffee shop is to serve a nice cup of coffee, and having travelled around and sampled numerous coffee roasters, he finally settled on serving the award Winning Ristretto Coffee Roasters from Banbridge. Of course high end quality doesn’t come cheap, but Andrew always insisted the coffee he uses must be of the best highest quality, as he stated without a good coffee you have no coffee business. Maybe that’s his past German/Austrian educated school upbringing coming into play as its always about quality first there.

The Artisan sour dough bread comes from Ursa & Minor in Ballycastle, exceptional hand crafted artisan bread using only natural ingredients, the Coffee Hut wanted to serve only the best.
Our Tray Bakes and Cakes are made by a local lady in the Castlerock area, “Tilly’s” .... Freshness, Taste, Natural Produce, variety are her key ingredients.
Linda from Broughshane makes the award winning Sausage Rolls, as well as the Traditional Pork Sausage roll, you can have an Caramelised Onion & Chutney, Sunday Lunch or even an Ulster Fry Sausage Roll. She also is our supplier for the delicious 85% Belgian Chocolate Brownies.

Andrew also notes, The above mentioned products are key to having a successful Coffee Shop, but the most Important Key Product is Customer Service.
His Boss he says is not the Bank Manager...his Boss is the Customer! The aim is to go beyond what Customers expect, a friendly smile a helping hand and a wee chat are all part of his ethos, as you cannot bluff the customer nowadays, so being genuine and offering a top quality service with honest value to the customer.

Andrew has a set core thought to succeed, that he should never feel obliged for getting customers to give him business, but that he should earn it.
