This could catch you out if you are travelling this summer. If you still have twelve months on your passport before it expires you could be aware that many countries require 6 clear months of validity before you leave their country, others like Spain only require 3 months...however... because of BREXIT Eu countries only regard a passport valid for 10 years (if its a 10 year passport) from the date it was issued. They disregard the expiry date. ~UK passports were typically 10.5 years between the issue date and the expiry date, EU dont recognise the last six months. So if you have 12 months left on your passport and you want to go to Egypt, or America or Turkey, in the next six months you need a new passport now. The 12 months is 6 months and tomorrow is too late to travel. You've been warned.
