We had a fab day at the awards today. We are proud of our sous chef Adam getting into the final of this competition out of over 300 participants and cooking some amazing food. Congrats and well done to Adam for getting so far and doing so good, but also to Kieran our head chef for supporting him throughout 👏🏼👨‍🍳

👨‍🍳 The final six chefs for North East Chef of the Year 2024 have been revealed! 🤩

Next week, on Monday 13th May, six of the best North East chefs will go head-to-head to compete for the title of North East Chef of the Year 2024, sponsored by Crosbys Catering Equipment, at the prestigious two-day NECTA event.

We can't wait to see the following chefs in action:

Jamie Pearce, Lord Crewe Arms Blanchland
"I currently work as a sous chef at The Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland. After many years of being away from the competition scene, I'm excitedly returning!"

Patrick McKenna, The Cellar Door
"I've spent the majority of my career at The Cellar Door, evolving my style and technique. My primary focus now is on training, development and group dining."

Anthony McGuinness, St. James' Park
"I joined St James Park as a commis chef, working my way up to senior sous chef. I gained a passion for cooking from my mam and nana when I was a kid and have been cooking ever since."

David Tanner, The Cellar Door
"Originally from Sunderland, I am currently the head chef at The Cellar Door in Durham and have been here for 3 years."

Lawrence Norman, The Broad Chare
"I’ve worked in hospitality for over ten years but truly fell in love with being in the heat of the kitchen only five years ago. I'm currently chef de partie at The Broad Chare."

Adam Phillips, The Angel of Corbridge
"I've worked in restaurants and hotels all over the UK, France, Switzerland and Spain, and now currently work as senior sous chef at The Angel of Corbridge, a popular pub with ten bedrooms."
