PARTNERSHIP FIT FOR A TOWN.
What a few weeks we are having. Itโs Monday and more brilliant news. We are excited to let everyone know that Nuneaton Borough Junior Football Club have agreed a partnership with the newly formed Nuneaton Town Football Club.
The partnership will see both parties working towards the goal of providing local footballers a pathway to senior football, while also promoting the great work the junior section have in the community with their โfootball for allโ ethos. The Junior Section will continue to be known as Nuneaton Borough Football Club, while also keeping its own committee, structure, and affiliation with Birmingham County FA for the foreseeable future.
NBJFC currently provides football to over 300 children and 24 teams, also running a successful Boro Ballers session for our youngest footballers. The section has a vibrant mix of Saturday and Sunday football catering for players of all abilities which includes a successful girls and ladies section.
Speaking to Mick Beale (Junior Treasurer) this week on the deal he said โThis partnership is just what the town needs. After we sat down and heard what NTFC were putting together, and how much they were keen to work with us, it didnโt take long for the committee to agree this is the best outcome for both partiesโ A beaming Mick continued โThis is such an exciting time for the section and the new club, I canโt wait to work closely with them to provide the town with a successful football club for the community to be proud ofโ
Ian Cook, Chairman of the newly formed Nuneaton Town spoke of his joy "This is another key part of our rebirth and to bring our football clubs back together. I cant wait to get going and see where this journey takes us all"
After finalising the deal Ian mentioned "As a Community Interest Company we recognise our responsibility to promote the participation in football for all ages and abilities. Our partnership with NBJFC is an important step in this direction."
We cant wait to get going and bring on 2024/2025!
๐จJust over an hour to go before we make ANOTHER announcement for the NBJFC ๐๐ ๐จ

Following the demise of Nuneaton Borough FC at the end of 2023, supporters and former sponsors have come together and worked hard to create a new football club, Nuneaton Town FC, which is now a registered Community Interest Company (CIC).
โThe club youโve supported all your life has withdrawn from the league and has no manager, no players and no ground. So, what do you do? Accept that itโs the end of 130 years of the townโs proud footballing heritage? No chance,โ said long-time Boro fan and one of the clubโs new directors, Jim Evans.
โAs fans all over the country have done in similar circumstances, you come together as a fan base, as a community, and you rebuild. This is the start of the journey. We want you to come along with us.โ
Ahead of the new season, Nuneaton Town FC will be sharing updates so fans can get an insight into what is happening behind-the-scenes. Simply follow Nuneaton Borough Supportersโ Co-Operative on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) or the just launched Nuneaton Town FC WhatsApp Channel, where news will be shared first.

Following an open meeting held by the Nuneaton Borough Supportersโ Co-Operative back in January, around twenty Boro fans formed a Steering Group that has met weekly to create the new club and ensure everything is in place for the start of the 2024/25 season.
The Steering Group has agreed a Board of Directors: Ian Cook (chair), Derek Dunnachie, Stuart Elliott, Jim Evans and Mark Lacrouts, with Lee Hayward as the clubโs treasurer and Richard Dean as secretary.
Cook and Elliott represent Nuneatonโs football business community. Dunnachie is an independent representative. Evans and Lacrouts represent the Nuneaton Borough Supportersโ Co-Operative and were appointed by the Co-Opโs elected board. This structure ensures that fans are at the heart of decision making within the new club.
All have years of relevant experience, garnered from their professional lives and time spent on the Boro terraces, which will be put to good use running a football club with a sustainable ethos centred around the local community.
Chair Ian Cook says โI feel honoured to have been asked to represent the club as a CIC director and chair. I will show huge passion and dedication to help drive our club back towards where we belong.โ
Supportersโ Co-Operative representative Mark Lacrouts says he โis so proud and privileged to be selected as a director. I want to ensure that we have a well-managed and ambitious team that is sustainably financed that can stand on its own two feetโ.

The FA has yet to determine which level Nuneaton Town FC will be playing at but the Steering Group has created financial models and plans for each of the potential leagues. The Steering Group has also started the process of recruiting a new manager and arranging pre-season friendlies, while the wider fan and club community has helped select a club badge and kit.
โI am honoured to be working with a group of people who are so passionate in delivering what the fans want and deserve,โ says Steering Group member and now Director, Derek Dunnachie.
โI would like to thank the Steering Group for all of their hard work to date,โ adds club director Stuart Elliott. โWhat a great team you all are off the pitch after a turbulent time towards the end of the Boro.โ

With Nuneaton Town FC moving into an operational phase, the Steering Group will continue its work through sub-groups focused on different aspects of running a football club.
One thing already decided is where the team will be playing โ in the short term, at least. The club has an agreement with Bedworth United to use The Oval for upcoming seasons. All involved with Nuneaton Town FC are, however, determined to bring home games back to the town itself. As board member Stuart Elliott puts it, โAs a long-time fan and sponsor, I am committed to seeing Nuneaton Town FC playing back in Nuneaton.โ
