It’s that time of year again! Pre-season is upon us and the coaches are working hard on a fitness and skills program to get us ready for September, when we look to continue playing both social and competitive rugby. The lads have pulled off an amazing series of achievements in the last 3 seasons, including a league win and two cup wins. Despite this, we pride ourselves in being the friendliest club in Sussex and have an amazing social calendar and welcoming clubhouse for all the family. Want to find out more? Not sure what to do with your summer? How about some free fitness and sport at St Francis RFC in Southgate, Crawley? We have touch rugby sessions running all summer Everly Thursday, 7pm. It’s a great introduction to the game and way to make new friends. The Emerald Club bar is always open afterwards too! So why not join us for a bit of fun in the sun?

To continue to honour the memory of Sergeant Matt Ratana, The Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation are coming to Southgate for a night of rugby and community on 24/05/24. The Whānau Trophy, kick off: 7:30pm, will be battled out between the Ratana Mana XV, featuring some familiar St Francis Faces and The Sussex Blue Light Barbarians. The game is followed by merriment, remembrance, an auction and raffle full of rugby artefacts. Come one, come all to continue to contribute to the community of the game we love, remember a fallen police officer and enjoy some local rugby played by 2 squads of passionate local players!

That’s a wrap for 2024! St Francis brave a tough opposition to secure the Sussex Bowl! Thanks to for a hell of a battle and best of luck for the rest of the season! There are plenty of sore bodies (and heads) this morning but we’re all grinning from ear to ear. It was a full club effort yesterday, thank you to all involved and for hosting us all!

Your St Francis squad for the Sussex Bowl Final vs at on Saturday 20th April 2024, kick-off: 11:30am.

They’ve pulled it off! The sidelines erupted at the final whistle from the St Francis camp after a hard-fought battle against a determined Crowborough 2s. Despite a few bits to polish up for the final next week, the lads got the job done and we look forward to meeting Rye in the final. Many thanks to 2s for making the journey and giving us a hell of a game! We wish them the best of luck for next season.

The lads are raring to go for some semi-final cup action as we welcome 2s to Southgate tomorrow. Come and join us on the sidelines to cheer the boys on as they leave it all out on the field! Saturday 13th April, kick-off 2:30pm

JUNIORS TRAINING IS CANCELLED THIS MORNING 17/03 DUE TO WATERLOGGED PITCHES AGAIN 😢

We skip over to Ifield today to meet 2s after 3 weeks out due to waterlogged pitches. The lads can’t wait to get back on the pitch for game day after some great training sessions over the last few weeks. Let’s gooo!
