This commercial unit had a brand new mezzanine floor fitted to make better use of the space. This new layout required some additional lighting and power to make this a safer and more functional space.

We fitted a brand new containment system which now feeds new LED lighting, emergency lighting, small power and even an EV charger.

A really nice job carried out today for a commercial client in Heathfield. This warehouse fitted with low hanging Flourescent fittings has been refitted with Megaman's High Bay 150w LED units giving a much greater light level for warehouse staff to carry out their work safely.

Out with the old and in with the new!!!!

12 x 8ft Flourescent fittings replaced with new 5ft twin LED fittings at Dawlish Community College today. The old fittings were worn out and failing on a regular basis so this upgrade should provide a maintenance free sollution for years to come.

! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT RESULT TODAY!

While carrying out an EICR the client mentioned receiving shocks from a dishwasher when touching the sink at the same time. This had been dismissed previously by another electrician who claimed it was purely static and nothing wrong with the installation.

When I tested between the two peices of metal work a potential of 107v was measured! After dismantling parts of the kitchen I eventually found an old flex outlet with a new cable poorly added from feeding the dishwasher, as you can see from the pictures the earth conductor had snapped leaving the dishwasher without an earth connection! Needless to say this was a potentially lethal situation and one I'm extremely happy is now rectified!

If you have any safety concerns about your electrical installation please get it checked by a qualified, competent and conscientious electrician!

This morning we carried out a free installation for The Alice Cross Centre in Teignmouth. This new defib cabinet will soon be home to a life saving AED which will be accessible to the local community in the event of an emergency.

Well done Teign Heartbeat for supplying the AED unit and cabinet!

Happy Monday everyone!

Last day on the Bovey Tracey first fix. A few cables still to be run and some revised positions to alter but we are 90% there!

Check out the view from the newly formed master bathroom on the second floor!

Day 2 on the Bovey rewire and so far 47 metal accessory boxes fitted, 56 wall chases made for cables, multiple stud works drilled out for cable routes and the upstairs lighting wired!

Pushing on but still lots more to do!

What a morning to be starting the biggest project I've undertaken so far as L B Electrical. This property is undergoing a full renovation and layout change and as a result a complete rewire is going to be completed.

What bank holiday wouldn't be complete without a call out?

Attended a rental property with an RCD tripping in Teignmouth today. Once onsite it was quickly established that the fault was on the main house ring main. Within the first hour it was traced down to a chewed cable in a loft space where a pesky rat had decided the PVC cable was on the menu today. The offending cable was disconnected and the circuit protection down sized to protect the cables from overload. A nice fault found!

Next recommendation is an EICR to ensure no other cables have been damaged by the new residents.......

Quick early morning job helping out the guys at Enigma Signs in Paignton get this new light box sign at a local holiday park connected. For any signage needs speak to these guys, top quality work and really creative!

Huge thanks to the team at Western Towing for supplying the new Rhino roof bars and Rhino pipetube for the van! No more squeezing 3 meter lengths of containment into the back of the van!

Another nice consumer unit upgrade finished this week. The original board was an over crowded 12 way board with multiple poor additions throughout its lifetime. The new board has had the circuits seperated out to 17 circuits which shows how much has been added over the years.

Great day today replacing the multiple old consumer units/fuse boards at a property in Teignmouth. New type A RCBO board installed with type 2 surge protection. So nice to tidy up these old messy installations and provide a much safer level of protection to the installation and it's users.
