The client loved the random shade and pattern style and how well they worked together.

Our sister company Maurice Parker Interiors Ltd will be closed on Saturday 13th August. They will reopen for business on Monday 15th August.

LVT is great for any room in the house but especially the kitchen and bathroom. It's not only hardwearing and water resistant but looks great too. This beautiful Kitchen was recently completed by Les, one of our senior fitters at AJ Floorcraft.

We over boarded the new chipboard floor with 6mm plyboard, and then prepared this with Ardex Feather finish to give a smooth and level surface to lay the tiles on. We gave this surface time to fully dry out. This is an important step in laying this type of floor to ensure no problems arise further on down the line.

We then laid Amtico Form, Pavestone pattern, using Amtico adhesive.

This floor took 3 days to complete in total.

We think the finish result looks fantastic.

Apprentice Floor Layer – Job Description

A J Floorcraft & Coatings Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for an apprentice floor layer. This will be a 2-year apprenticeship which will start your journey to become a fully qualified floor layer. You will be trained in all aspects of commercial flooring on a one-to-one basis, directly from experienced tradesmen.

No experience is required however we are looking for honest and reliable people to join our business, with excellent time keeping and an eagerness to learn. The work is often of a strenuous nature along with long hours, which includes a lot of heavy lifting so a good level of fitness would be a necessity. Our office is based on Alfreton Road, Derby where you will be required to report to each morning for 7am.

You will be representing AJ Floorcraft & Coatings each day whilst out working on sites, which include fully functioning schools, hospitals, offices and many other environments. Your work will require excellent attention to detail whilst working to a very high standard at all times and your behaviour in these environments will be courteous, respectful and exemplary.

Schedule:
· Standard days: Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm. Some days may be
shorter or longer if a project has to be completed.
· Overtime & weekend work may be required during busy periods

Duties:
· Stripping up, sweeping, scraping, and general floor pre-
preparation works
· Flooring preparation including mortar works, latex screed, ply
boarding
· Loading out materials
· Learning how to install all types of floorcoverings
· Clearing site & ensuring it’s tidy and snag free
· Occasional warehouse duties
· Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required
