Places experienced and imagined inspire much if my work. I am working on a series presently based on Holy Island ( or Lindisfarne) and that northern area.

My paintings are often about places both experienced and imagined and colour plays a dominant role. This painting is one of a series I am working on based on Holy Island ( Lindisfarne) and that beautiful northern area.

Just to say a big thank you to all my visitors to the studio during the LEAR art and craft event last week. It was great to meet so many lovely people at this first opportunity since joining LEAR. My recent paintings are inspired by the Thames and having shown some of my mudlarking finds I was amazed how many people who visited read about and follow mudlarking on social media etc.

Weeks of scraping paint from my palette at the end of a day onto an old canvas has found an old biddy lurking in the colours. Self portrait then ! 😂😂
