Our boxer of the month goes to the number 2 boxer in Great Britain 🇬🇧 Jimmy Dean Smith 💥
Jimmy Dean which recently got selected to box for England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 where he went on & beat a very good Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 National champion & just recently winning the open class Hull Box Cup! This weekend !!

Jimmy isn’t just a boxer, he’s a leader ! He’s forever praising & pushing his team mates in the right direction.
Some boxers change when they return to their club with an England vest BUT not our Jimmy - if anything, he has become a lot more humble & respectful towards the team.
(Jimmys words were ‘The England Camp is just like a DBA session’ meaning we are delivering top training on a daily basis)

Jimmy was awarded with his fight vest from his National championship bout with his England boxing medal all in a frame which now be put on the wall

Well done Jimmy Dean 🥊

Mixed emotions today as some of the decisions were very tough to take 🤷🏼‍♂️

However what a weekend for DBA 💥
5 boxers through to the final with Blayne & Jimmy Dean both beating two very good boys from two very good clubs 💯💯

Also would like to thank all of our coaches & the boxers family for taking the long ass trip (4.5hours) to this amazing Hull Box Cup 🥊

Shout out to our very own ‘Phill Hudson’ who has judged over 50 bouts already this weekend at the Hull Box Cup

Massive good luck as Team DBA have traveled 4.5hours up North to box in the international Hull Box Cup 🥊

The event is over 3 days (quarters / Semis & Finals on Sunday)

Today we had Didcot Girls School come in for a session, what a fantastic group of young girls these were.

The main focus on today’s session was about coordinating with the other students on attack & defence.
- How to throw a punch correctly whilst defending yourself after the punch is thrown 🥊

The students had loads of fun whilst learning the trade of boxing 👊🏼

Final finish to our ‘wheelchair - accessible ramp’ which now allows wheelchair users to operate in/out of our boxing gym 🥊

Big shout out to Sinclair for always building us the brickwork as always 🙏🏼
& of course Paul Hedges for designing the ramp and completing the perfect fall which was a difficult task to do as the ramp is built of slabs & we had to meet the building control regs.

Perfect job, to complete the perfect sign off to the gym 📝

The female class tonight will be cancelled due to England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 playing in the Euros ⚽️

The amateur session from 530-645 will resume as normal 👊🏼

What a cracking tournament this was in Dublin,Ireland 🥊

Not mentioning no names / clubs or officials….. But our boxer has just boxed the head off a lad & somehow lost on a split decision 🤦🏻‍♂️

How/what can I/we say to our boxer when he says how did I not get that decision coach 🤷🏼‍♂️

We are a fair club & we love this sport ! But s**t decisions like that can really make a boxer quit the sport he loves the most !

What a fantastic final this was today between Jax & Yash 🥊😍

Unfortunately we didn’t get the win, but we left everything in that ring & gave it our all. Yash (European gold medalist) boxed perfectly & was just landing the cleaner shots.

We are very proud of Jakson as he beat the best two Irish boys in his category to get to the finals today.
Was just bad luck that we had the best boy at the tournament in our group 🤷🏼‍♂️

To be the best, you got to box the best ! No shame in that !!

First on the menu was macronutrients!
All student’s worked together to work out there body weight in kg, then converted that into (lbs)to work out how much protein, carbs, and fat’s as well as fibre was needed to maintain there current body weight.
Other work included, mental obstacles, and how to over come them obstacles followed by our daily session plans, well done everyone keep up the amazing work!
