Last week we said goodbye to our Mark, who has left his role with us to move back to the UK. We had a little presentation at the office and he was chuffed to receive a signed Peter Hickman print and a bottle of his favourite tipple! To say good bye to Mark and his partner Lorraine we all headed out to Peel for a few drinks in the pubs and a bite to eat at the The Black Dog Oven (which was scrumptious!) Everyone at MBS wishes Mark Lorraine all the best with the move back to the UK.

Earlier on this year we sponsored Steve Falconer as he embarked on a tour with the England walking football team. Here is Steve receiving his first cap for a tournament that took place in Malta, which England won by a landslide! We are sure it'll be the first of many, with the next opportunity coming this weekend when the team head to France for another tournament. Hopefully they can bring home some more silverware! Today our team had their very own cookie bake-off. They channeled their inner Paul Hollywood and produced some very tasty treats!! After some intense voting, where we had joint first place, a second round of voting took place and Jonathan was crowned the King of Cookies 👑🍪 All this was to raise mental health awareness. Baking can be great for relieving stress, enhancing creativity as well as boosting your mood. Why not give it go yourself. We are taking part in a number of activities for Isle Listen‘s Mental Health awareness month.

A massive Happy Birthday to our Cal who celebrates the big 30 on Sunday. The office has been suitably decorated with embarrassing pictures and Callum has received his Marks and Spencer Colin the Caterpillar cake, yummy! We didn't go for the full 30 candles as it would have caused a fire risk 😂 All the best Cal!!

MBS Sponsor Stephen Falconer with England over 60’s Walking Football Team

Stephen Falconer has been selected to play with the England over 60’s Walking Football Team & has just signed for the Kingsmaid Club in the Manchester Walking Football League.
Stephen has played for several IOM football clubs including Gyms, Governors Athletic and 20 years at St Georges winning the IOM Player of the Year twice.
To further his football journey, Stephen is required to travel to the UK multiple times each year for training and games. Excitingly, he is set to participate in international events, including matches in Malta in April, Italy in May, and France in June.

So this year we were proud to sponsor the Mannin Cancers Support Group Red Ball, which took place a couple of Saturdays ago.

Our team and guests attended what was a brilliant night, raising money for this great organisation.

In total the night raised whopping £27,500, Mama Mia!! which will go to supporting people on the Island with Cancer.

Yesterday our team took part in the Isle Of Man Bank Santa Dash along with a record entry of over 400 Santa's. Although no records were broken by our guys they had a good run out on a blustery day and raised £350 for charity. Well done to everyone who took part in the dash and to the organisers for putting on a great event. See you next year....

This year the MBS Manx Business Solutions team carried out a collection for the Iom Foodbank
With times being harder than ever this fantastic charity helps Manx families, and it really does make the world of difference to those in need.
The IOM Foodbank provides:
- Crisis support in the form of food parcels to families and individuals in need.
- Support and an action plan to help get beyond the crisis, and plan for a return to independence.
- Advice on cooking with minimal facilities.
- A means of distributing surplus food from suppliers to those in need.

Our team need no excuse to get Christmassy! With today being Save the Children Christmas jumper day they didn't need an excuse. Here's the team in their finest Christmas clobber. Donations made have totalled £77 and will help Save the Children carry out their important work. As Slade once said, Merry Christmas Everybody!! 🎅🎄🎄🎄

On the 1st of September our guys Simon and Callum were joined by guests Neil and Harry from Thomas Miller to channel their inner Faldo, Woosnam, McIlroy and Fleetwood to compete in the Mannin Cancers Support Group Golf Day vying to win the Mannin Cup! The action took place at Dougals Golf Club and saw some fierce matchups between the teams. Congratulations to the winners Sure IOM, Manx Telecom, and SQR. Also a big shout out to the sponsors MMD Group. Our team had a great day out raising valuable funds for a great charity, roll on next year.

Last week was a very busy week for our print team. With no less than 14 machines being installed across two sites. Needless to say Sean and Callum didn't need to go to the gym after that lot as every day was arm day 💪. Pictured is Sean getting one lot of devices ready for install. Last night we took part in the annual The Children's Centre Rounders tournament sponsored by Price Waterhouse Coopers. Having sorted some sound tactics out coming into the event, we were confident we could do well this year. Our first game against "here for the Food" couldn't have gone better. Scoring 36 points in the win, left us top of table and in confident mood moving into the second game. A tense affair followed with Swagelok Limited. We batted first and set a modest target but some great bowling and fielding meant we bowled them out. Two for two and we were feeling very confident going into the last game against Utmost International Isle of Man. This time around we bowled first and restricted Utmost to 26 runs. We had our target to beat, knowing that a victory would put us in the final. After a feisty batting innings, with some gamesmanship from the opposition, we ended on 26 and drew the game. Another minute or two of time and maybe we would have won the game and made the final for the first time, but this year it wasn't to be. Thanks to the umpires, organisers and everyone who puts on a great event every year. A big shout out to Vagabonds for hosting the event. Next year we will be back ready again to smash some massive balls!

This Saturday saw the 40th Anniversary & Annual Prize Dinner for Ramsey Rugby Club with special guest and after dinner speaker Will Greenwood MBE. Our MD Rupert Leaton played for Ramsey for many years and as such MBS were delighted to support the club by sponsoring the event. Will Greenwood holds 55 International Caps and was an integral part of England’s victorious world cup campaign of 2003. He gave an entertaining speech and presented the club's award winners with their accolades. A great evening was had by all and congratulations to Ramsey on celebrating 40 years. Here's to the next 40 years!

Last night we had a little trip to the sunset city! We feasted on fish and chips from the The Cod and Castle, had some refreshments at The Peveril and topped up our tans. A great night was had by all.

Move over Verstappen, Hamilton & Alonso our guys are coming for you! Last weekend our social club headed North to Jurby for a cracking day of karting at Jurby Karting As the rest of the Island had some pretty wet weather, luck was on our side as the track was dry, no need for wets! After a 10 minute qualifying session it was on to the race. The flagged dropped and we were away! A few crashes in the early stages of the race were long forgotten and everyone settled into a nice rhythm. A technical issue forced Callum to change karts, with the rest of the race passing without any incidents. Simon took the chequered flag to win the race, with Dan in third and the finally podium place spilt between Chris and Callum (he probably would have been about here is he hadn’t had damaged his kart!) Such a great day was had by everyone, we will be back again next year to see who can topple Simon at the top.

Last Friday our social club headed down to IGolf for a fun filled night. They channelled their inner Tiger Woods on the Golf sim, raced like Lewis Hamilton in the race simulator chairs, took on the TT course in full Michael Dunlop mode with pool & poker being taken very seriously by everyone. We topped off the night by ordering in some pizza from Pizzaiolo and bringing our own beer. We highly recommend iGolf for any social event. Today was a sad day in the MBS office. We said goodbye to our Maddie , who is leaving us for new adventures down under. La Piazza Restaurant was then the venue for a tasty send off lunch.
