2450 (Dudhope) Sqn Air Training Corps
We are a volunteer youth organisation open to all young people aged 12-17
It’s a busy project night tonight at 2450 Dudhope Sqaudron
Our cadets have been busy with Banner drill, flight sim and modelling getting ready for competitions
Recently 7 of our cadets finished their first class training and were awarded their first class badges. Some of the things they were learning was map reading and communications which will help towards future activities like Duke of Edinburgh and Radio.
Well done to all the cadets that took part in the wing cross country competition today, we managed to come away with a few medals,
U15F Individual Gold for Cdt Summer Scott (2450)
U15F Individual Silver for Cdt Mukwiza Muyobo (2450)
U15M Individual Silver for Cdt Temisan Temituro (2450)
Make sure to keep an eye for more posts over the next few weeks to find out what else we have been up to
Tonight was our last parade night of the year where cadets took part in a Christmas party
Cadets had a go at scoop the snowballs and unwrap the parcel with a twist, we then went onto musical statues and musical chairs followed by a few party snacks.
We had a little competition on the flight sim as well throughout the night and we finished with a little quiz and bingo
We would like to thank all cadets and staff of 2450 Dudhope SQN for this year and we hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year see you all in 2024
The start of November is a busy month for our cadets as we participate in remembrance
The first event started with the festival of remembrance at the Caird hall in Dundee on Saturday the 4th of November, the cadets are joined by other cadet forces, military personnel and veterans where they march onto the stage and listen to the performances throughout the evening.
The next 2 events the cadets participated in was poppy selling on the 11th of November, and the remembrance parade on the 12th
For poppy selling our cadets were around Dundee city centre selling poppies and were also joined by army cadets and sea cadets. As poppy selling was on the 11th we had a short service in the city square and a 2 minute silence.
Our final event was the remembrance parade where cadets marched from Dundee high school to the city churches for a 2 minute silence and laying the wreaths following a church service.
Well done to all the cadets that have taken part in all the events over the last 2 weeks
