How to tackle being ill and injured when on your healthy lifestyle journey…
I’ve not been to the gym in almost two weeks 🥺 I have an injury and I have to listen to my body and allow it time to heal.
Just because I can’t go to the gym doesn’t mean I can’t tick off everything else on my “healthy lifestyle to do list”
It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing approach. Actually in order to get your results and keep them you must learn to ditch the all or nothing mindset asap! Or you’ll continue to yo-yo!
Here are my tips-
- if your body says rest- REST - you’ll recover quicker
- keep plugging away at your healthy food habits- my food has remained healthy regardless of going to the gym or not
- I have maintained my body composition as my calorie intake has reduced. I am moving less therefore I don’t need as many calories.
- I’m can still walk- so you better believe I’m doing that for my sanity!
- I’m using the time I usually use to go to the gym to continue to do nice things for myself.
- I continue to remind myself that this situation is TEMPORARY and before long it will be a distant memory!
- I always try to find the positives in what can be viewed as a negative situation.
- I am being proactive when it comes to things I can do to aid my recovery.
The gym is off my to do list for a while but every other healthy habit is happening! No stop start. No yo-yo’ing just a little change of plan until I feel better!

STOP doing what you always do (crash diets, fad diets) and START opening your mind to some real change…. Like me (swipe to see what I’ve achieved)
Just because it’s what you’ve always done… doesn’t make it the best way!
Up until I was 27 years old… I believed that in order to lose body I had to cut carbs. So I done it time and time again. I lose fat…. And then gain again. I’d repeat this “diet” so many times. I was sick of it!
Only when I looked at my lifestyle as a whole… was I able to lose body and keep my results (for 8 years now) I eat carbs everyday. I eat chocolate everyday (it’s my non negotiable 🤣) I’ve never felt so at peace with myself than I do now at 35 years old.
I understand how food and exercise positively effect my mood, brain clarity, sleep, ability to manage stress and my physique!
This is what I teach my clients! They trust me, they trust the process and they see the whole picture. This just isn’t a flash in the pan diet, it’s a way of life that effects them in sooo many ways! And it’s how you’ll KEEP you results! Say bye bye to yo-yo dieting once and for all!
