A huge good luck to Marco Island boxing club who are running their annual Frank Gervin memorial boxing show tonight in Florida. We know this tournament meant a great deal to Frank and we hope everyone has a great night! 🥊

Today marks 9 years since our beloved head coach Frank passed away. A lot of success has come after Frank’s passing but we all know that he was the man who put the wheels in motion. A man who is greatly missed by everyone who knew him. RIP Frank.

A big day for Conan Herron who claimed his second All Ireland title boxing a strong competitor from Maynooth. Conan claimed all three rounds with giving his opponent a standing count in the second and third rounds to get his hand raised. This was Conans first 3 minute rounds and passed the test with flying colours. Next up for us is Michael Magee fighting in the Junior 1 All Irelands in Dublin, dates TBC. Well done Conan and coaches 🥊

Congratulations to Michael Magee who came through an extremely tough and close fight to become Ulster Champion. Michael will now box in Dublin in April. Ronan was narrowly beaten in his bout but can be extremely proud of his performance and his first year at open boxing. Well done lads 🥊

Congratulations to Ronan Cushnahan who won his first mid Ulster open title. Ronan put on a war for the audience in attendance and stopped his man in the first. A strong man from silverbridge was as eager as Ronan but the Clonoe man landed the cleaner shots and got him out of there. Ronan boxes now with Michael in Saturdays Ulster final. Callum McCann narrowly lost out against a very experienced boxer. A great learning fight for Callum who will come again. Well done lads 🥊

Congratulations to Michael Magee who is our new Mid Ulster Champion. Michael put on a punch perfect performance to seal his place at next weeks Ulster Finals. We also had Jordan who narrowly lost out but a great learning fight for him. Danyla boxed a strong cookstown man and narrowly lost out. Tomorrow, we have Ronan Cushnahan boxing in his first Mid Ulster final looking to take all the glory and push to the Ulster finals. Mid week, we will have Callum McCann boxing in his final also. The committee and members of Frank Gervin ABC wish to extend our sympathy and condolences to the McCann family on the death of John. John was a former trustee and committee member of our club. John was also the father of our club sponsor Sean and grandfather to our current boxer Callum. Rest in peace John.

🔴⚫️ Club Update 🔴⚫️

Conan unfortunately lost a very close fight on Sunday in the Celtic Box Cup final. Conan put the pressure on his opponent, catching him time and time again with the right hand. We thought we had done enough to steer the bout in our direction but not to be on the day. A great tournament and a great weekend had be all and we will be back next year to go one better and take gold.

Last night, we had two of our boxers out in the Ulster Seniors Novices in Belfast. Thomas was in with a strong man from Belfast and was in a real battle in the first two rounds. Thomas landed two cracking left hands to stop his opponent in the third. Thomas is back out tonight in the semi final. Norbet was up next, claiming the first round while cutting his opponent above the eye, couldn’t continue due to injury. A good experience for him and surely will be back post injury.

Tonight, we have Thomas and Rhys in the semi finals with both men trying to reach an Ulster Final. Good luck boxers and coaches! 🥊

Congratulations to Conan who came through an extremely tough bout to get through to tomorrows Celtic Box Cup final. Conan boxed a very strong Canadian and was a very close fight. Conan now boxes a cork man tomorrow. Good luck to Conan and coaches! 🥊

Congratulations to our two boxers Matthew and Thomas who boxed last night on the Carrickmore show. In his debut bout, Matthew boxed a punch perfect display and show great skill in his opening bout. Well done Matthew! Thomas was in against a former foe from Strabane who he fought a few weeks ago. A thrilling contest in which Thomas put on a punch perfect performance that he should be very proud of. Thomas got his hand raised for the second time against the man from Strabane. Well done Thomas! Coalisland has a new All-Ireland champion. Conan put on a punch perfect performance against a strong boxer from Cork. Conan now has completed the clean sweep with Tyrone, Ulster and now All Ireland glory. Congratulations Conan! 🥊

Today marks 8 years since our beloved coach Frank passed. A role model for the youth of Coalisland, Tyrone and the wider community for many years and his memory still burns bright. RIP Frank.
