DUSCR - Durham University Society of Change Ringers
Hello there! We are DUSCR - a friendly and welcoming society who practice Change Ringing
DUSCR journeyed to the Lake District for this year's summer tour. Seventeen towers were rung at and Stickle Tarn was conquered. Thank you to Elizabeth for organising the tour!
Congratulations to Elizabeth, Ophelia, Kate, Alec, Andrew and Miles for ringing a peal of 5040 changes of Plain Bob Minor! This was both Ophelia and Alec's first peal, and Andrew's first as conductor.

DUSCR had a brilliant time on the 2023 Summer Tour to Northamptonshire, organised by our master, Andrew Booth. We stayed 3 nights at Miles Baker’s house (master in 2022) and rang at 18 towers both in and on the way to Northamptonshire. Ringing highlights included a superb touch of plain hunt on 11 at Kettering and the hilarious mess we made pulling off in rounds at the anticlockwise ring at Barton Seagrave (half the ringers looked the wrong way!) The evenings included lots of beer (with over 120 pints drunk over the course of the weekend!) and games, including the usual cards and tricky ibble dibble. We also played the traditional game of Wok in the field, we might have to buy a new set of balls for next time!
DUSCR had a fantastic day out to Hartlepool today on the Treasurer's Tour. We rang at St Oswald's, Art Gallery, Stranton (which have been recently rehung) and the superb St Aidan's. Thank you and well done to Vera for organising such a fabulous tour!
DUSCR had a fantastic time on the Fresher's tour yesterday!🔔 There were 14 of us and we rang at 5 towers around the Southern District of County Durham. The towers were Shildon, Heighington, Gainford, Barnard Castle and Staindrop. Well done to Cian Tempest our Secrectary for organising such a terrific day out!
