St Mary’s Matriculation will take place in Durham Cathedral at 15:15 on October 3rd for incoming students.
Principal Adrian Simpson would like to invite St Mary’s Alumni to join them for the matriculation ceremony. Alumni are welcome to come to St Mary’s at 12:30 for lunch before heading over Prebends Bridge for the ceremony in Durham Cathedral.

Four-time Paralympian and alumna Gemma Collis fought in the women's wheelchair fencing (épée, category A) today, in her second event at Paris 2024.
She won her first match, however was knocked out in her third bout by Ukraine's Yevheniia Breus in a gripping and fiercely contested competition.

Buona fortuna to the Chapel Choir of University College, Durham!
Tonight they kick off the Italian leg of their summer tour with a concert at La Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio in Rome. Tomorrow (5 September), they are set for St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. Their final performance is on 7 September at the Basilica di San Lorenzo in Lucina. Come along if you are a Durham alum based near Rome!

Next Monday (2 September), the Chapel Choir of University College, Durham performs the final UK date of their summer tour at St Paul's Cathedral in London, before flying to Italy.
The Choir's tour has thus far seen them sing at iconic Westminster Abbey and St George's Chapel, with Italian venues including St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican still to come ⛪
"Thank you so much to everyone who came to our service of evensong at Westminster Abbey on Thursday [22 August]! We were very grateful for the opportunity to perform some fantastic music, and it was lovely to have some of our alumni sing with us."

The Chapel Choir of University College, Durham continues their summer tour with their second UK performance at Westminster Abbey at 5pm today. All are welcome - if you are in the area, stop in to Evensong and listen to them before they head to St Paul's Cathedral in London.

A thrilling weekend in the Paris 2024 Games saw our five Durham Olympians:
🥉 Win a bronze medal in the women's coxed eight in the rowing final. Congratulations once again to alumna Lauren Irwin and team!
🏑Progress to the quarter-finals in the men's hockey, where they lost to India in penalty shoot-outs in an intense encounter. The team's Olympic journey ends here but we remain very proud of our Jack Waller and Ollie Payne.
🏑Qualify for the quarter-finals in the women's hockey after a resounding victory against the USA on Thursday 1 August, in which alumna Tess Howard scored twice. They face the Netherlands in the quarter-finals later this afternoon.

🏑Alumni Jack Waller and Ollie Payne in Team GB men's hockey squad will play the final match in their pool, against Germany at 7.15pm (UK time) this evening - Friday 2 August.
🏑We will also see them play in a quarter-final match on Sunday 4 August
🏑Alumnae Tess Howard and Fiona Crackles face Argentina in the final match in their women's hockey pool at 9am (UK time) on Saturday 3 August
🚣♀️ Alumna Lauren Irwin competes in the women's eight in rowing final A at 9:50am (UK time) on Saturday 3 August

Lauren and team have made it through to Final A in the women's 8+ rowing of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, winning their heats in a time of 6:16.20 💜
Their next race will be on Saturday 3 August at 09:50 (UK time).
