East Durham College - The Prince's Trust
We run The Prince’s Trust 12 week Team Programme at East Durham College, to help young people (age 16 to 25) get into work, education and training.
The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. The TEAM programme is a great way for young people to gain the experience, skills and confidence they need to find jobs. The Prince's Trust Team Programme is a 12 week programme focused on personal development which is based at Houghall Campus in Durham. The Team programme re-engages young people, helping them to think about the
On Friday we had the pleasure of meeting Richard Tucker from Durham Masonic Foundation.
Some of our students delivered an amazing Dragon’s Den style presentation to Richard and the team were awarded £657 to use towards their community project at Croxdale Community Centre.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Richard, this will make a huge difference and the money will go towards helping improve the garden area, painting the community centre and purchasing and decorating the hall for Halloween events.
The feedback was great from Richard - “The team gave an impressive interaction presentation, which left the Dragon in no doubt that the cause was worthy of their ask.”
We are pleased to announce that from September, East Durham College are going to be delivering The Prince’s Trust Team Programme from both Houghall Campus and Peterlee Campus this academic year.
The programme is suitable for those who are 16 - 25 and are currently not in employment, education or training.
It’s a great opportunity to get involved in new challenges whilst gaining a qualification and new experiences.
Throughout the programme you will:
• Learn the importance of team work
• Complete various outdoor activities
• Undertake special projects based in the local community
• Complete a work placement
• Participate in a team challenge involving caring for others
• Stage a team presentation
No benefits that you may claim will be affected by taking part in the programme.
Get in touch to find out more or if you know someone who you think would benefit from the programme.
