We are a small but well established nursery located within the grounds of St Bedes Church, Sacriston, catering for Pre-School children aged 2yrs+
Little Stars Nursery originally started as a playgroup in 1999 and ran successfully for over ten year, in 2009 the playgroup was awarded nursery status. We are located within in the grounds of St Bedes Church, Front Street, Sacriston and have a natural out door fenced in area for the children to enjoy. At Little Stars Nursery we have places for both funded* and non funded children from 2yrs onward

Funded childcare sessions for two year olds (Play and Learn) - Durham County Council Some two year olds are entitled to funded childcare from the term after their second birthday at 'Play and Learn' sessions. This could be at a nursery, playgroup or with a childminder.
Family Hubs are offering the following programmes and courses to parents of children aged 3 and 4 around speech and language and school readiness. These are suitable for any child where parents have concerned about their childโs speech and language development or worries about them starting nursery or school.

Let's Talk at Home is a course for parents and carers of children aged three to four years.
These play-based sessions are fun, practical and filled with talking tips to help develop your child's speech, language and communication skills, at home using their favourite activities.

This course is aimed at parents of children aged three to six years. It looks at how you interact with your child, and helps you to promote your child's social, emotional and language development to get them ready for school.

Weโve had a lovely first two weeks back after the summer holidays, with our little stars settling back into nursery. Theyโve had great fun expressing themselves and making some new friends.
What a lovely half term weโve had ๐ some of the things our little stars have enjoyed are, making flags for the coronation, planting their own seeds and getting the garden ready for the when the seeds grow, learning about bees and making their own bee creations. Theyโve been making most the most of the lovely weather and love to be outside playing.

Weโve had a fantastic first week back. Starting the week off with Dawnโs special birthday, lots of discussions about what we have been up to over the Easter holidays and weโve enjoyed the good weather ๐๐ฅณ ๐ฃโ๏ธ
This term we have had lots of fun and learning opportunities both inside the nursery and in the garden.

WORLD BOOK DAY ๐๐๐๐
We have really enjoyed the last few weeks of Autumn. Especially visiting our local woods, parks and playing and learning in our garden. The children have particularly enjoyed the theme of the Gruffalo.
We are now SO EXCITED to officially start CHRISTMAS!

โLEST WE FORGETโ
This week we have been teaching the children all about Remberance Day. They worked together to make a Poppy and place it at the village cenotaph. We also visited St Bedeโs Church ๐๐ป

This week we have been learning all about Guy Fawkes (Bonfire Night), making fireworks and most importantly how to stay safe. We even had a visit from Red Watch at Durham Fire Station who reinforced our learning.

Today we enjoyed our annual Halloween Party. We had lots of fun being creative, party games, listening to stories, Halloween themed party food and of course lots of spooky dance moves ๐ฏโโ๏ธ๐๐บ๐๐ป๐
We have had so much fun outside over the last couple of weeks enjoying the good weather.
Weโve really enjoyed learning all about the Autumn season, the village that we live in and also using our fab gross motor skills to have lots of Autumn adventures!

This morning we had another AMAZING โForest Schoolโ session. The children (and staff) all enjoyed pancakes with different fruits and as a treat, toasted marshmallows. ๐ฅ
Jenny brought and used her fire pit and taught the children all about how to stay safe whilst using it. ๐ฅ
