Remember this?
Jeff is very lovely. He tells us about lovely books. And I have remembered EVERY SINGLE appointment of his this year. Other bookshops aren't as forgetful, but they have been gamely displaying this very banner in their shops throughout the year and creating their own Jeff displays.
Anyway, next time he comes, he's going to bring his shiny trophy because Jeff won Rep of the Year at the Booksellers Association Conference.
Hooray for Jeff!
This is Jeff. He's our lovely sales rep from Bonnier Books and he comes and tells us about lovely new releases.
It's also a running joke that I never quite manage to write his appointments in the diary and then he turns up and I have a panicked "wait, did we have an appointment today?!"
ANYWAY in a world first, today I remembered so I made him a sign to celebrate.
Hooray for Jeff!
That's a lot of Turtle Moons!
Dispatch begins today. As indicated on the ordering page, dedications take a little longer to process, so please allow time - it would be a disaster if you received the wrong copy!
If you ordered for free collection, you can pop into the shop. If you selected free collection in error, please get in touch to organise postage.
Thank you so much, Hannah Gold - Author!
Hannah Gold is with us from 3.15pm until 4.15pm today for an after school signing.
It's not too late to order a signed and dedicated copy of Turtle Moon!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to meet Harriet Muncaster. It was so fun. If you missed out, don't worry, we've got lots of signed books for you to enjoy ππ¦
HARRIET MUNCASTER SIGNING π¦β¨

Pre-booked people will join the 4pm queue and we will direct you in to the shop as you reach the front of the queue.
The drop in signing for those who haven't pre-booked will begin from 4.45pm. Please note that this is first come, first served.
The shop will be closed from about 3.30pm to browsers and will be open only for those attending the signing event. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Don't say we don't spoil you π₯°
Our lovely friend, Hannah Gold - Author will be with us from 3.15pm until 4.15pm for an after school signing on Monday!
You can pre-reserve your copy of Turtle Moon via the website.
EDIT: The 4pm pre-booked queue is now fully booked. You are welcome to drop by from 4.45pm, but please note this will be on a first come, first served basis.
Don't forget, our signing with Harriet Muncaster is THIS Friday!
Two pre-booked slots for the 4pm queue remain, which guarantees being seen AND includes a copy of Mirabelle and the Baby Dragons, or join the queue on a first come, first served basis from 4.45pm.
Link to the 4pm booking queue is in the comments.
The happiest (or naughtiest) of publication days to Louie Stowell! Loki: A Bad God's Guide to Making Enemies is in the building and causing chaos in typical trickster God style by pretending the cover is orange, when it is, in fact, red.
We know how many of you have been eagerly awaiting book four! Look out for the Loki-Pig.
If you pre-ordered, these were posted yesterday, or are ready for collection β€οΈ
Just a reminder of our signing with Harriet Muncaster on Friday 20th September after school!
There are a very small number of tickets left for the ticketed queue at 4pm, which includes a copy of Mirabelle and the Baby Dragons. You do not get a fixed time within this time slot, but it guarantees that you will meet Harriet. On arrival, please join the 4pm queue - you will be able to collect your book on the day.
If you do not pre-book, or miss the ticketed slots, there will be a drop-in signing from approximately 4.45pm (or when we have finished the pre-bookings) for those who did not pre-book. This will be on a first come, first served basis, and there will be a queue in place, if necessary.
In order to allow as many people as possible to meet Harriet in the timeframe we have, please only bring one book from home.
Thank you - link to book in the comments.
Drum roll please π₯
The 2025 World Book Day books have been announced!
We'll be in touch with schools soon about our World Book Day plans.
For those who aren't familiar, or simply just as a reminder...in March 2025, these books are available for Β£1, or a child can bring in their World Book Day token to obtain one for FREE.
These books are a gift from the bookseller to the child in exchange for the token - we are not reimbursed for these. For so many children, the World Book Day book is the first that they've chosen and owned for themselves.
And that's why World Book Day is so important. Every child deserves books to call their own.
Where are our Doctor Who fans?
We're really excited to announce that our friend LD Lapinski has written Doctor Who: Charles Darwin and the Silurian Survival - part of the Doctor Who Icons series. How cool is that?
Anyway, we have a fabulous treat for you! Pre-order through us and your copy will be fitted with a signed AND dedicated bookplate. Treat your shelf or another Doctor Who fan. Link in comments.
