Here's a recent install for a long standing customer. You can clearly see a 'techy' has access to the budget here😆. As cool as we find this - you don't need the lights or the Enterprise equipment in most cases, but it is wonderful when a customer understands the importance of a healthy IT Network and invests in good, reliable equipment. Good morning. BT still experiencing outages for broadband across the UK. Many of you will be experiencing slow internet, they are working to reroute the traffic as a matter of priority so hopefully, you'll be back up and running soon.

Good morning, Some BT broadband circuits maybe experiencing packet loss or slow speeds due to an issue identified on some of the BT bearers. BT are aware and is working on the issue. This is a nationwide issue.

Our engineers all follow a model of best practice of ensuring all the tiny details are perfect and allowing this to filter up to the bigger details. A photo from a recent install at Lindleys Autocentres below shows how a data cabinet is supposed to look. Don't get me wrong, you could still have issues with a cabinet that looks like this, but if an engineer takes the time to make the small things perfect, you can rest assured they're taking care of the rest of it!

Happy Friday folks. Been a full on week this week! Install new Gig Fibre line and network configuration at Essex Motor Factors, new customer telephones and broadband install at Saffron Autos Limited, then up to Nottingham for another full network install at Lindleys Autocentres.

Each site needed a different solution, whether FTTP, EoFTTC and Cellular failover or a Gig ethernet leased line. One size doesn't fit all, each network design and set up needs rigorous design, planning, testing and delivering. Thank you for having us on site and for putting up with Andy Collins jokes. 😉

Contact Groups

Don’t want your suppliers, VIP customers, creditors, etc waiting for your IVR/Auto-attendant to finish with the options before they get through to you? You are now able to add these contacts to a designated contact group and point callers to a destination of your choice. This can also help with new customers who will need additional support in the first few weeks and allow them to call straight through and bypass the options.

You can create any number of contact groups to route your callers to specific departments, extensions or users. Thus allowing you to give the customer a real human touch.

Psssst........we can also create groups to hide those annoying callers that cause accounting issues or even those pesky telecoms sales people that drive you up the wall!

‘Unified communications’ – you hear this a lot. To most of us it means the same, but some ‘solutions’ that claim to be in the ‘Unified communications’ camp, do the opposite.

Take cloud telephony for example, the field we work in; we’ve seen so many bloated cloud telephony systems that mimic each other and in theory provide unification, however in practice almost create disunity and duplication. We’ve taken the decision to not include video messaging in our system. This may prove wrong in time but now seems the right decision. We can add if needs be in the future, but for now, none of these video conferencing features can compete with the existing giants.

Hear me out! What is unified about having a telephony product that has a video messaging service? Most businesses have Microsoft, G-suite or Mac offering Teams, Google Meet, Apple FaceTime, etc, etc. Lots of businesses have their own already very good video conferencing/messaging system. Not to mention many CRMs that have this anyway. Or Zoom, Slack, WhatsApp for business. I could go on. Also, you’re duplicating costs. Because your telephony system provides video conferencing, will you cease your 365 license for Teams? Doubt it.

Instead, we at Vostel focus on and develop telephony features that no one else has and nothing else has, providing true unification… not duplication. More unique features coming soon!

Giving your customers the best experience when they contact you by telephone is, of course, super important. But what about when you don't manage to answer the call? In our experience some callers do not want to leave a voicemail and hang up at this stage. We have found the best solution to resolve this is to give the caller an option of what they would like to do if you can't answer the call.
We are delighted to announce a brand new feature has been released. Introducing CallBack.
What is CallBack? CallBack gives the caller the opportunity to request a call back from you by pressing a key.
How does it work? Here is an example of how CallBack works.

1. Call arrives and phones ring for 30 seconds
2. If the call isn't answered a menu option will play
a. Press 1 to request a call back
b. Press 2 to leave a voicemail
c. Press 3 to continue to hold

If the caller selects the call back option our system will send you an email alert with the callers number so you can call them back.
If the caller selects the voicemail option and leaves a message this will be emailed to you.
If they continue to hold your phones will start to ring again.
This puts the decision of how the caller would like to continue and gives you a much better chance of retaining the callers interest.
To add a cherry on the top... If the caller selects voicemail but doesn't leave a message we can also email you a missed call alert.
