Celebrate the magic of the season by discovering the Winter Herbarium, featured on the limited edition porcelain candle sleeves.
L'Artisan Parfumeur’s Advent Calendar is made up of 24 travel-size products. Each window hides miniatures, ideal for discovering a new olfactory signature by the end of the year.
Since ancient times, perfume has been used as a remedy, thanks to the birth of aromatherapy. In winter, the cold season, it was advisable to breathe in warm ingredients, such as vanilla, star anise or liquorice, consumed for their therapeutic virtues. This tradition, handed down by doctors, was carried on by perfumers.
The French "art de vivre" is as much a design style as a lifestyle. The bath and body products are reminiscent of the bathing routine at the Court of Versailles, instituted by Queen Marie-Antoinette. L'Artisan Parfumeur likes to pass on this French tradition, reinterpreting it in a contemporary way.
For those who love Niche perfumery and are looking for singular fragrances, discover the Winter Gift Set. True to the founder’s spirit, who championed auteur perfumery, the House showcases authentic ingredients in their unprocessed state, giving perfumers carte blanche.
Porcelaine Carpenet is a factory near Limoges, famous since the 18th century for the excellence of its white and decorated porcelain. Carpenet is a French family history, committed to the highest standards of craftsmanship. Awarded the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label, it produced the porcelain pot for the new limited-edition candles.
For the end of the year, L'Artisan Parfumeur offers you Olfactory Tales in its Winter Herbarium. Just as the founder was a "storyteller of scents" who found the right words to describe his perfumes, the Advent Calendar tells you beautiful stories about the raw materials of winter, like a poetic stroll through the fragrances of the season.
Anchored in the heritage of the brand and its creator, the L'Artisan Parfumeur Advent Calendar is in the spirit of an old-fashioned herbarium. An illustrated book, it pays homage to the noble, ancestral crafts that enabled texts to be diffused. Enchanting the senses and the mind, it is part of the age-old tradition of publishing, a major symbol of the transmission of knowledge.
At the Winter Solstice, around December 21, when the light triumphs, the end-of-year festivities begin with their procession of traditions and scents. Tables are laid and houses decorated, to celebrate the joy of being together. Oranges and spices, glazed chestnuts and candied fruits delight our senses.
What's your favorite way to celebrate the end of the year?
L'Artisan Parfumeur's scented candles, L'Ambre and La Figue, are enriched by a new limited-edition packaging, produced at the Manufacture de Porcelaine de Limoges Carpenet, with respect for traditional craftsmanship. The ceramic pot is hand-crafted and decorated in their workshops, using traditional skills of excellence. Adorned in these ephemeral finery, these scented candles take you on an olfactory journey.
Would you like to travel to the sacred Himalayan mountains of the Kingdom of Bhutan, where Dzonghka is the language spoken in the fortress monasteries? These places of serenity inspired Dzongkha, a mystical fragrance that captures their atmosphere. Wafting around the incense are tanned leather, sweet spiced tea and peony and iris flowers.
The incense tree, native to Arabia, was named boswallia sacra by botanists. Legend has it that it was imported directly from paradise by God to the lands of Dhûfar (Oman), and that it is invested with aura. Its sap transmits a special force, called "baraka", which means "the beneficent influence of the sacred" or simply "luck".
Les Paysages collection are olfactory postcards of places forever preserved in our sensory memory. Soleil de Provence takes us along the mimosa trail on a sunny winter's day, offering us the feeling of plenitude that emanates from it. This vibrant flower, which blooms in the cold, creates landscapes bathed in light, offering a dazzling spectacle.
With Cuir Grenat, perfumer Christophe Raynaud aimed for a fragrance that gave the sensation of touch. Thus, the raspberry and leather can be seen as well as smelled; they are both aromas and scents, possessing unexpected oppositions and similarities.
Through the Les Paysages collection, L'Artisan Parfumeur celebrates travel memories in France. Un Air de Bretagne conjures up memories of the fresh, iodized sea air we smell along the Brittany coast. By capturing the sea spray in a bottle, we capture a snapshot of this "wild, unsubdued moor".
Why not personalize your fragrance ritual by choosing the iconic Mûre et Musc, a skin fragrance that is neither feminine nor masculine, but prodigiously human? Its hand cream acts like a caress, allowing you to create a self-care routine, varying according to your mood, either musk or blackberry.
To light the Intérieur Figuier candle is to enjoy the green, woody scent of a fig tree in midsummer. The light breeze carries you to the foot of this sacred tree, symbol of wisdom, abundance and fertility in every civilization. Since ancient times, its fruit has been considered "more precious than gold".
Patchouli is the note of the month, recognized for its powerful, distinctive scent. Patchouli is often described as earthy, evoking the smell of damp earth or wet leaves in a forest. Its fragrance can also be described as musky and spicy. Come and discover it in Fou d'Absinthe and let yourself be enchanted by the irresistible blend of patchouli and cold absinthe and fresh pine needles.
The citrus family also recalls the smells of holidays and sunshine. Did you know that the term "citrus" comes from Greek mythology? It was the nymphs, called the Hesperides, who watched over the garden of the gods where citrus fruits grew. For Mémoire de Roses, Christophe Raynaud uses mandarin essence to bring a fresh and lively facet to the damask rose.
Botany has almost 700 ornamental roses. Did you know that perfumers only use two varieties? The centifolia rose, with green, round and honeyed accents, which is grown in Grasse. And the Damascena rose, more lemony, spicy and woody, which is grown in Morocco, Bulgaria and Turkey.
A sunny digression in the shade of sour orange trees, bathed in light and freshness. Have you ever combined Histoire d'Orangers with its body milk to intensify orange blossom?
An emblematic white flower, orange blossom offers multiple olfactory facets. Do you know the difference between orange blossom and neroli? Whilst both come from the same tree, the bitter orange tree, they are distinguished by their extraction techniques. Orange blossom corresponds to the absolute obtained by extraction with a volatile solvent. Meanwhile neroli, obtained by distillation, characterizes the essential oil.
Did you know that Louis XIV had a particular appreciation for the smell of orange blossom? So much so that in 1684 he built the Versailles orangery to accommodate orange trees from Spain, Italy and Portugal. To pay their respects to the king, courtiers used to offer their own orange trees.
Head for Corsica to discover the immortelle. Perennial evergreen sub-shrub, its flowering period extends from May to August. The essential oil, obtained through steam distillation of the flowers, develops notes of honey and hot sand. Have you ever experienced it in Mandarina Corsica?
Jasmine flowers in summer and the extremely fragile flowers must be picked before dawn and treated quickly. Unsuited to the high temperatures of distillation, the flower is transformed into Jasmine absolute by extraction with the use of a volatile solvent.
Jasmine, native to India, is a shrub of the Oleaceae family. Remarkably, out of more than 200 varieties, only two are used in perfumery: Jasminum grandiflorum and Jasminum sambac. Jasmine grandiflorum, cultivated in Grasse since the 19th century, is still celebrated every year during parades featuring floats boasting Jasmine in bloom.
