Digital Lifelong Learning - a part of the solution

The world is in urgent need of more professionals in the wind industry. Over the next years, there will be a significant demand for new employees within the wind industry value chain. Without these individuals, achieving our sustainability targets will be extremely challenging. Let's take a moment to consider that.

We are committed to addressing this challenge and want to contribute, and this is why we're participating in the EU-project, DigiWind.

In DigiWind we will primarily focus on facilitating lifelong digital learning and equipping the wind industry with advanced digital skills, encompassing tools, solutions, and expertise.

Last week we participated in the DigiWind project kickoff and are ready to go.

DigiWind is a collaboration between DTU - Technical University of Denmark, Gdansk University of Technology, University of Oslo (UiO), Irish Manufacturing Research, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Whiffle, F6S Innovation, Delft University of Technology, Technological University of the Shannon and Cadpeople supported by the European Union European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA)

VisBlue's innovative battery systems are crucial in the shift towards sustainable energy, offering efficient storage and management of renewable power. Our collaboration brought a unique challenge – how to service these complex systems efficiently and sustainably? Using our expertise, we developed an Augmented Reality service platform, transforming the way Visblue's products are maintained. This not only reduces the environmental impact but also underscores the potential of AR in revolutionising service processes in green technologies.

Recently, we had the perfect reason to do just that while assisting Ørsted System Management with a recruiting film. Our team visited one of their vital power stations, a facility essential for providing hot water and electricity to the local community (amenities we all appreciate, right?). During our visit, we had the privilege of meeting with two turn-around managers, key players in ØSM's operations and the very type of professionals they're looking to recruit more of. Hence, the video.

We gained insights into what a day in the life of a turn-around manager at ØSM can look like and what it means to be part of their team. We're eager to encapsulate this knowledge into an engaging video.

A Smooth MADE project 🦾

We're proud to play a crucial role in a MADE EdTech pilot project, showcasing the power of Extended Reality in industrial robotics.

In collaboration with Smooth Robotics, we've used our XR expertise to develop a pilot that explores using Virtual Reality to cut down robot programming time – potentially from 20-30 minutes to just 5-10 minutes.

Extended Reality har potentiale til at halvere tid på robotprogrammering - MADE Smooth Robotics laver svejserobot-løsninger og har testet, hvordan extended reality kan bruges i programmering af robotter i et MADE EdTech projekt. Our very own Sean Bruce attended the Learning Technologies Award 2023 yesterday alongside our friends at Edinburgh College in hopes of leaving with a statuette for our VR Dementia darling project.

And so we did.

At Cadpeople, we're no strangers to complex and sophisticated simulation projects, and we're excited to team up once again with Vestas to push the boundaries of what's possible in wind energy technology.

🏆 Our ongoing journey with LINAK Danmark A/S has reached a new milestone. Our collaborative effort in creating a unique virtual showroom has been recognised with a Red Dot Award in the 'Brands & Communication Design' category under 'Digital Solution'.

It's been quite a journey showcasing the importance of electric linear actuators — an essential product but not always easy to explain.
