See y'all soon 😘
ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣
After two wonderful years, we’re moving out of our Thistle Street location next month.
We'll be keeping an eye out for a new space, but in the meantime, we’ll still be doing events at various venues, and we have a bunch of exciting new projects in the works.
This is not a goodbye from us, just a goodbye to Thistle Street. The last day the shop will be open will be Saturday 15 July, but we’ll be sharing details of discounts and closing fun-times soon! (If you’re one of our consignment artists, we’ve sent you an email.)
We hope to see you in the next wee while, and we want to thank all those who have frequented the shop, attended our events, and supported us in any way. The best thing about starting BKco. has been the incredible community that has embraced what we do. Thank you, be kind, stay cool – see you soon!
Em & MB ❤️🔥

Hey hey it's May and we have our book club pick for this month!
Sophie K Rosa's brilliant RADICAL INTIMACY 🎉
From the publisher, Pluto Press:
Capitalist ideology wants us to believe that there is an optimal way to live. We must be productive and heteros*xual, we must have babies and buy a house. But the kicker is most people cannot and do not want to achieve all, or any of these life goals. Instead we are left feeling atomised, exhausted and disempowered. RADICAL INTIMACY shows that it doesn't need to be this way. A punchy and impassioned account of inspiring ideas about alternative ways to live.
We can't WAIT to talk about this book! Link in bio for more details and to register.

Shoutout to all the rebels and riot grrrls – we want to hear your poetry!
For us, punk evokes the very smash-the-system ethos that we love here at BKco. You don't need piercings and a ripped tshirt – this is about pushing back, being loud, questioning the way things are and demanding change. Homophobia? Racism? Ableism? Transphobia? Misogyny? The Patriarchyyyyyy ... F**K THAT NOISE – let's make some noise of our own!
If you're based in Edinburgh and would like to read a few poems at our punk-themed poetry night on Friday 21 April, fill in the form at the link in bio and tell us a bit about yourself!
Open to all, but priority will be given to people from marginalised groups in keeping with our aim to amplify little-heard voices. We encourage people who've not performed their work before to give it a go – the BKco. audience is supportive and welcoming so it's a perfect chance to share your writing in a friendly space :)
