With over 20 years’ experience in architectural design, I understand how emotional and overwhelming even a seemingly small home improvement project can be. Having the right support can make the process much easier and, hopefully, enjoyable! My aim is to work with you to unlock the possibilities of your home; surfacing new ideas and, potentially, overlooked solutions. Working together, you can expe

This Georgian apartment in Stockbridge, Edinburgh, has been beautifully renovated by its new owners. I obtained Listed Building Consent for some contemporary updates, such as relocating the kitchen from a small back room into a larger, brighter, front-facing principal room where it is now a social space suitable for entertaining.

A beautiful day to revisit Rescobie, a year after the completion of our garden pavilion.
A blast of autumn sunshine today to chase away the rain at our Duddingston extension. Maybe there’s time for one last al fresco meal in 2023…
A glimpse of the garden studio I designed for clients in Craigleith, Edinburgh. Built out of natural materials by who later today are talking to a group of architects in Portobello about their ethical approach to designing and making.

Rescobie Pavilion
A steel framed garden pavilion perched above a stone plinth, gazing out over an easterly loch and the westerly garden of a nineteenth-century school house in rural Angus.
Jury comments: It may be small, but Rescobie Pavillion packs a big architectural punch. This exceptional reflective space takes full advantage of its elevated site. Rescobie Pavillion is an exquisite celebration in detailing, executed to perfection.
At the kind invitation of the Galvanizers Association I recently attended their awards ceremony in London, where Rescobie Pavilion won the Duplex Award! The coveted, shiny, steel watering can is fittingly headed to Rescobie, in Scotland, where the delighted clients will use it to water the garden that surrounds their pavilion.
I'm pictured here with Mick Jackson of GA (left) and former winner, Theo Molloy, of PUP Architects (right) at the Granary Square Brasserie.
Thanks to Highland Galvanizers and Colour Coaters for their great work on the project:

Galvanizers Association Award Winner!
Thanks to for selecting our steel garden pavilion in their annual awards. The duplex finish of galvanising and an epoxy coating will ensure that the building sits comfortably in the Scottish landscape for many decades to come.
Am excited to reveal that our steel framed Rescobie Pavilion has been shortlisted for the 2023 Galvanizers Association Awards. The results will be announced on Thursday 27th July.
