Sports and Remedial Massage

Who is it for?
It is for everyone. Whether you are training for an event or race in sport or have some lifestyle or work related aches and pains a sports and remedial massage could be for you.

What to expect?
Initially some chat to find out the reason for your appointment.

If your goal is some relaxation then it’s time to focus on some soft tissue massage work.

If you have a specific issue or ache/pain/injury then some targeted soft tissue work and where appropriate (almost always) some suggestions of exercises and other lifestyle factors that could be done to help alleviate the issue and aid further recovery.

Ever feel like you should maybe be moving more?

This is the Chief Medical Officer guidelines for physical activity for health in adults and older adults. What are your thoughts?

How does your weekly activity look compared to this? Could you be doing more?

Moving more often, especially if you have a desk based job, can really help with those everyday aches and pains.

Do you build strength weekly? So often it’s the part we miss out as it is easier to get the “activity” part done every week. Some examples of this are walking for the bus, talking the dog for a walk or using the stairs instead of the lift. Or for those more active maybe it’s running, swimming, cycling, spin classes, skipping.

I am interested to hear what you do weekly to keep active.

For me it is moving little and often, running, walking my dogs and doing little bits of strength work throughout week. Strength work for me includes using gym equipment, carrying heavy shopping bags and lifting and moving things around the house (I am constantly reorganising things 🫣)

Why You Need a Post-Ski Massage

You’ve traded in your ski goggles for your laptop screen, and your après-ski glow has faded into the daily grind. But before you get swept away by the current of work and routine, take a moment to pamper your post-ski body with the ultimate indulgence: a recovery massage.

Swap Sore Muscles for Serene Smiles
Those epic runs down the mountain were exhilarating, but they left their mark in the form of aching muscles and nagging knots. A massage is perfect to melt away tension and leave you feeling like you floated down the slopes, not skied them.

More Than Just Muscle Magic
The benefits of a post-ski massage go beyond the physical. It’s the perfect antidote to travel fatigue and lingering adrenaline, sending you back to reality feeling ready to tackle anything. Whilst having your treatment let the memories of snowy peaks and crisp mountain air wash over you. It’s like reliving your holiday from the inside out.

Tailoring Your Treatment to Your Needs
Whether you’re craving deep tissue work to conquer muscle tension or a relaxing Swedish massage to ease travel tension, there’s a massage style perfect for you. As always your treatment will be tailored to meet your needs.

Investing in Yourself
Think of a post-ski massage as an investment in your well-being. It’s a chance to show your body the appreciation it deserves after all that fun on the slopes. You’ll return to your daily life feeling stronger, looser, and ready to conquer whatever comes your way, even if it’s just a mountain of laundry.

Ready to Book?
Use the link in the bio or drop me a message

I hope this post inspires you to prioritize your well-being and treat yourself to a recovery massage after your next ski adventure. You deserve it!

Rolling with changes as 2020 progresses and draws to a close. Due to the latest updates from the Scottish Government I shall be closing my diary on the 24th December and reopening (hopefully) on the 18th January.

I will use the time to finish my new treatment room so it is complete for 2021 and continue with a course I haven’t found/made the time to complete this year.

I will also be taking some time for myself and my family and hope that you will be able to do the same for yourself.

If you would like an appointment before this enforced closure please do get in touch as I have a couple of appointments left in Wednesday.
