Oh I guess it’s post worthy not just a 24 hour story 👀

So a little over 2 years ago I stood at a whopping 30.6 Stone and a size 52 Waist. Now even at 6ft7, this looks very very big 😳 I had qualified and seriously debated weight loss surgery. But I decided I needed to try 1 last thing before I do that.

2 years later I’m now standing here at 20.2 Stone and a size 38 Waist (36’s are being delivered this week). Muscle Mass increased and the happiest I’ve ever been.

Ross’s Story

Has anyone else lost a donkey recently?

Well we have (not an actual donkey of course, and well if you have we hope it’s soon found safe and sound!).

But that's the amount of weight that our clients have lost recently. All of them by making small sustainable changes to their lifestyle and holding themselves accountable to their results.

We have talked about this in terms of slabs of butter, or bags of sugar, but right now we could all do with a laugh and hopefully seeing a donkey on your newsfeed has brightened up your day!

PERFORMANCE NUTRITION #6: NITRIC OXIDE - The discovery of Nitric Oxide led to the award of the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine to Dr.Lou Ignarro, my colleague at UCLA. Nitric Oxide (NO) is a gas made of one atom of Nitrogen and one atom of Oxygen (see slide). It is made from citrulline an unusual amino acid found in watermelon and the amino acid arginine in the cells that line the tiny vessels in the tip of your finger called the micro circulation (see slide). These tiny vessels actually carry most of the blood supply to tissues and organs. The tiny blood vessels called arterioles have smooth muscle cells which relax to open up blood flow in response to the effects of NO gas acting on proteins on the surface of the smooth muscle cells (see slide). Antioxidants help NO persist in the blood so it can act on the muscle cells before being oxidized and inactivated. NO affects blood flow in all the organs of your body and acts as an important messenger in the heart, brain, and other organs.
