Getting creative this term with our juniors ‘Smile!’ theatre arts class.

They are devising a mini performance called ‘ Elf on the Shelf - The Musical ‘

It’s already brilliant and they are only on their second rehearsal ! 🥸❤️🙌🤩

Round of applause for the 3Theatre saltire art leaders .lithgow and 👏👏👏👏

They receive a short brief then lead a team of their peers to create the most wonderful props and set pieces ( using only what we have in the room). They also encourage and inspire the younger smile team to get involved.

This last project was a race against the clock challenge, they had approximately 8 hours over two days to finish artwork and then also assist in the final performance piece.

They are incredible and we are so grateful that they choose to volunteer with us! 🤩

Blackout Productions are presenting ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’ at the Churchill Theatre Edinburgh Wednesday to Saturday this week ! 🙌

This is sure to be amazing and is directed by the phenomenal

World ‘Smile’ Day is a thing ( and has been since Harvey Ball created World Smile Day in 1999!)

A day each year to celebrate genuine smiles and acts of kindness.

So pass on a smile in the street, you might just make someone’s day!

I love teaching energetic, talented creatives and helping them to bring their imaginations to life!!!!

3Theatre workshops have been nominated for awards for this all inclusive and creative approach to learning!

Spooky Smile this year will be created by the team who arrive on the first day… we get to know each other, try out ideas and then off to work we go creating something excellent.

Young and Older students make the team and help each other out.

The challenge is to see what we can come up with in less than 18 hours (over 3 days) … using only what we have/ what is in the room or what we can recycle with a showcase at the end for family and friends.

Who wants to join us?

Everyone is welcome here … we need creatives who just like to ‘give it all a go’

The team help young students to engage and help students with the confidence to try.

Anyone can take part by being in the show, giving ideas , working as a team, and/ or drawing creating set and props we use in our story.

Day One/ Summer Smile!

‘Let’s Go!’

Today we got to know each other and tried out some super skills, we started our story, worked really hard AND had time for pure FUN too!
