This week’s Menovist, TLC, and all things wellbeing event has been such a joy, not least because of the wonderful speakers and entertainers who have brought the topics of menopause, mental health and wellbeing to life.

We started this incredible journey of sharing personal stories and discovery with our inspirational Operations Manager Becky Davies whose disarmingly vulnerable personal story about her experience of menopause on a live business has driven us on this incredible journey.

Thank you to Helen Tomlinson for sharing your lens of the golden thread of hormones running throughout our lives and the incredible work she has done to ensure menopause is no time to step back in the workplace.

To Molly Davis from the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) and Becky Davies for your brave and hysterical sharing of personal menopause symptoms. For Katt Williams from Zestfit for empowering us to choose strong, and to Emma Kay for sharing your incredible app Walksafe that was initially inspired to keep women safe when mobile, but now serves everyone.

Sarah Davies, we’ve learned loads about the impact hormones have on our lives and what we can do to help ourselves and each other.

Mandy Southall hosted an incredible panel, including the speakers and Dawn Gunther from the Dove and Rainbow pub in Sheffield.

And the final effusive thank you has to go to Shona Davis from Pernod Ricard for hosting our Sip & Paint session, and the fabulous retired nurse and now comic Zeph Churchill for ending the day with learning, song, and raucous belly laughs. What a day!

Now, on to day two for some TLC and wellbeing. This year’s event is certainly one to remember.

It’s great to see another one of our fantastic pubs thriving!👌🍻

The Rutland Arms Bottesford reopened this June following a £130k investment that has transformed this beautiful pub into a family-friendly village pub and restaurant.

The investment has injected new life into the charming pub which proudly boasts something for the whole community.

Publican Russell Wheatcroft said: “The Rutland Arms has been a prominent pub not just in Bottesford but also in the Vale of Belvoir for many years and is a central meeting point for so many.

“The investment was important to allow us to maintain our reputation in the village, and being able to offer a wide selection of food and drinks also helps to keep the pub vibrant.”

It was a pleasure to welcome two of our new local Labour MPs to Jubilee House yesterday.

Jacob Collier MP (Burton & Uttoxeter) and Josh Newbury MP (Cannock Chase) met CEO Clive Chesser and other members of the Punch team.

They were given a tour of our progressive Pub Training Academy, sampled some menu concepts in our state-of-the art Development Kitchen, learned more about a number of Punch’s ‘Doing Well, By Doing Good’ initiatives and discussed the Labour Party’s commitment to safeguarding pubs across the UK, and our policy asks to support this plan and ensure our pubs not only survive but thrive.
