It’s blends month at the Black Cat!

For the month of April we will be showcasing some special blended whisky at some very special prices! (while stocks last).

We want to promote some local stars (and wider!) to share all the wonders of blended whiskies to all you die-hard single malt fans.

Blends often go overlooked on our shelves but April will change that. Stay tuned for some very cool events we have planned too!

We have some delicious drams on the bar from Tomatin Whisky!

These three bottles are part of the Italian Collection. Barolo, Amarone and Marsala wine casks have expertly paired with the delicious Tomatin whisky to create these 3 expressions.

For a limited time only try a dram of each for £7.50 or grab all three in a whisky flight to compare the unique flavours of each.

We’ve got a few spaces at our Makers Market that we’re hosting to celebrate the public launch of Pochle Geal! For our launch event we wanted to show off all that Edinburgh craftsmanship has to offer across its many talented artisans making food, drinks, clothing, art and many other lovely things.

A couple weeks ago a few of our bartenders had the pleasure of visiting Aberfeldy Distillery and picked up the beautiful bottle for the bar.

This 1999 single cask handfilled bottle is one of the more special features on our bar right now and we're sure it wont be round for much longer! 👀

Kilchoman Comriach is back on the bar!

Kilchoman will always be a favourite distillery amongst the bartenders here at the black cat but did you also know that we're one of their specially designated "Comriach" Bars?

Kilchoman describes Comraich as "a global network of bars dedicated to the enjoyment of Kilchoman single malt. Here you will find the finest and widest range of Kilchoman single malts, including special Comraich bottlings exclusively available from Comraich sanctuaries."

We're proud to say we have some of these delicious and exclusive bottles back on our shelves but hurry to try them as they'll fly of the shelves again in no time.

We currently have Comriach batch # 1, 3 & 5 as well as an extensive array of core range and single cask/rare releases to try on your next visit!

Our beer fridges had a makeover during fringe!

We now have a great selection of local beers changing from week to week from some of our favourite nearby breweries!

There’s plenty of different options, from lagers, pales, sours and dark beers and a good few gluten free and vegan options to try too.

We never quite have the full collection in as the bottles fly off the shelf quicker than we can get the next one in!

Call in and ask one of our bartenders which one is their favourite and each of us will give you a different answer, then keep coming back til you’ve tried them all!
