Self-awareness is the strength of understanding yourself and the personal impact that you have on everything going on around you.
It’s about listening to your inner voice to deal effectively with all the quirks that make you, you. This is what makes self-awareness the key to successful leadership.
American civil rights activist and poet, Maya Angelou, expressed it best when she famously said that people will never forget how you made them feel.
This, as a leader, is what you should always be striving for – treating people with respect and making them feel valued. To do this with authenticity, leaders need to be tuned into themselves and hone their self-awareness.
Read more about self awareness in leadership in our blog below, and let us know what you think about our tips on how to be a more self aware leader:

Does your level of Emotional Intelligence help you to manage stress?
Even the word ‘stress’ can make us a feel a little stressed! It’s often described as how our body reacts to any kind of threat and is mostly associated with the feeling of being overwhelmed and not having complete control.
This is a great time to highlight Stephen Covey’s ‘Circle of Control’. The key purpose of this circle is to focus your thinking on what it is that you’re concerned about, how much of it you can influence and how much you can actually control. We can then start to shift the mindset of worrying about things and taking action to deal with them.
The good news: Raising our Emotional Intelligence can greatly reduce our stress levels.

For many organisations, their leaders have been coached leading to coaching programmes trickling down to managers, teams, and individuals. They are invested in it, but all too often, it’s difficult to prove the cost/benefit value of a coaching programme to both the individual and organisation.
So, how do we gather the data from coaching conversations that is needed by leaders to inform strategic decisions and grow businesses?
This case study digs a little deeper into how we can extract the themes and data needed by leaders to inform real change, all whilst ensuring confidentiality.
