Origin Scotland is a Christian ministry based in Edinburgh dedicated to unity in the Church of Jesus Christ, and outreach to the world. Origin Scotland works to deepen the fellowship of Christian believers with God and each other, and to reach out to those outside the Church. Origin is involved in staging Christian events in Scotland, Praise and Worship Events in Edinburgh, Glasgow and around the country.

Are you, or someone you know leaving home for university in the next few weeks?

Get your hands on the latest edition of our Student Church Guide to help you decide which churches you want to try out in your new city. All the churches listed in the guide are Bible believing, student friendly and have expressed a desire to welcome and support new students. Full details of their activities and location are listed.

You should be able to get a copy in your local Christian Bookshop and most Student Unions, University Chaplaincies, but let us know if you need us to send you a copy and we will do that.

A worship service in the beautiful St Cuthbert's Church in Edinburgh and the Stunning Glasgow Cathedral, featuring a selection of the best traditional hymns and some modern classics.

21st September - ORIGIN BIG BAND
An evening of big band jazz standards and big band arrangements of praise and worship songs.

7th / 8th December - CHRISTMAS SPECIALS

And so the Metro Big Band's time in Edinburgh is drawing to a close. Tonight is your last opportunity to see them this year. And as a special bonus Steph Macleod is going to be there too!

A surprise guest turned up last night!

Steph Macleod brought along his guitar and performed a few songs while the Metro Big Band were having a break much to everyone’s delight.

Don’t worry if you missed it, I have it on good authority he’ll be back for the next two nights! He will perform one of his own songs with the Metro Big Band and do an acoustic set or two on his own!

If you came along earlier in the week, you might want to come back to hear this awesome collaboration. The Metro Big Band and Steph Macleod for two nights only!

Well, that's the Foot Stomping Gospel nights finished. We hope you enjoyed them if you came along.

But our summer programme is not over yet. Next week we welcome the Metro Big Band a big band jazz ensemble all the way from America. Under the baton of the legendary Camp Kirkland they will entertain you in Carrubbers Christian Centre on Saturday night in Carmyle and Kenmuir Cornerstone Church on Sunday night and then every evening of the next week in Carrubbers Christian Centre.

If you saw them in 2022 you will know you need to make a plan to come along!

The Foot Stompers are going to playing in Carrubbers Christian Centre at 8pm tonight and tomorrow night. Free entry, no tickets required.

It’s such a busy night for Origin Ministries!

There are three Origin rehearsals on tonight!

The Origin Scotland choir are rehearsing in West Edinburgh for Symphonic Praise in Edinburgh and Glasgow next month and the Origin Big Band concert. St Cuthbert’s Edinburgh in Saturday 14th and Glasgow Cathedral on Sunday 15th, carrubbers on 21 Sept.

The Cape Town Gospel Choir are preparing in Cape Town for their Christmas event at Cape Town City Hall on 16th November.

And the Footstomping Gospel Band are. rehearsing in central Edinburgh for the next two nights of outreach in the Edinburgh Festival!

Meanwhile from all over America, 25 team members are preparing to fly to Scotland to join us for a week of outreach with the Metro Big Band next week.

So many different events, so many awesome volunteers all wanting to reach people for Jesus. Whether it’s in Edinburgh, or Glasgow or Cape Town we hope to see you soon!

Full colour glossy programmes are freely given to all who come to our events and it's a great way to advertise your business or ministry.

Symphonic Praise (14/15th September) in St Cuthbert's Church Edinburgh and Glasgow Cathedral - this popular event usually draws large crowds.

Christmas (7th & 8th December) A staple in the church calendar in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Usher Hall is usually near to capacity with people eager to start their Christmas celebrations.

We are gearing up for a great summer of outreach concerts!

Our Foot Stomping Gospel Band will kick off as part of Carrubbers Christian Centre's There is Hope outreach on 13th & 14th August.

Then from the Metro Big Band from the USA with their unique blend of sacred and secular swing music, directed by Camp Kirkland will be performing at Carrubbers Christian Centre from 19-23rd August.

Put the dates in your diary and invite a friend along for a night of great music, coffee and cakes.
