An early morning stroll is the perfect start to any Saturday.

Join us on Saturday 31st August for our monthly dog walk!
It will be at the usual time of 10am to make sure it’s not too hot for our furry friends (but who knows what delights the weather still has for us - best bring your wellies as well as your sunglasses!).

We will set off for a 5km circular route along the Shropshire Union canal, returning to the pub in time for a well-earned lunch.

Anybody is welcome to join us with their four-legged friends🐶

We had a lovely afternoon painting highland cows with followed by Our lovely afternoon tea the restaurant

Everyone started thinking we couldn’t paint the image but in the end we created beautiful pieces of Art.

Brunning and Price Original Bitter🍺

In March 2022 we formed a ‘beer panel’ of 16 of our most beer enthusiastic managers and tasted beers from 4 different breweries in our quest to update Brunning and Price ‘Original’.
After much deliberation, debate and many man-hours of tasting, we formed a happy partnership with Manchester-based Brightside Brewery who’ve created this easy drinking, gluten free beer which will act as a staple on our taps in the North.

This beer has a delicious roasted malt profile with caramel and vanilla notes and a subtle citrus-grapefruit side which can be drank with or without food.

Monthly Dog Walk🐶

Join us on our next dog walk this Thursday 18th at 6pm as we change things up slightly.

We will move from our usual Saturday morning slot to head out for an evening walk along the canal, returning to the pub for some refreshments.

We are meeting at Rake Hall at 6pm and, as usual, anybody is welcome with their four-legged friends.

We are dedicated here at Brunning and Price to help with fantastic opportunities for our crew to learn something new.

We’re starting our summer right, with a new addition to our menu… This delicious new Satay Salmon poke bowl is served with coriander rice, pickled red cabbage, edamame beans and cucumber.

We think it’s best paired with a crisp cold glass of white, and your favourite people across from you.

In hospitality we get to work with some very talented people who have the most amazing hobbies and passions.

Charlie is one of them, she has hand painted this beautiful sweet picture of our lovely pub. She has captured the nature of our view from the terrace and beauty of this grand building.

It is now proudly hanging over the fireplace.

Our outside marquee will be coming down for the summer months (irony that today it is raining) Mark & Lee our lovely gardeners will be jet washing the patio and furniture making sure its all s***k and span for when the sun come back out ☀️

The entrance to Rake Lane from the Chester bypass has also been closed today due to some emergency work on the lane. Access is still avalaible from the Cheshire Oaks entrance.

Alfresco dining is the only thing on our minds in this weather☀️

Less than two weeks to go until five of our fantastic members of staff (Dom, Jack, Fifi, John and Samantha) hike their way across Snowdonia in a mountain marathon to raise money for Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

It will take 16 hours (all being well) to climb 8 mountains which covers 3000 meters of ascent across 26 miles of Snowdonia’s beautiful glacially sculpted valleys and craggy peaks.

So if you’d like to show them some support, head to our story or the link in our bio to find the Just Giving page.
There will also be a collection tin on the bar or give them a cheery “good luck” if you see them around the pub.
