I had a day off from framing on Sunday and had a lovely lunch at Ben’s Yard with my wife, Maria who had a rare day off. Excellent food and lovely company.

A beautiful painting of Sunflowers called 'Reaching for each other' by Chrissie Hawkes. The frame is blue reverse with double edge in gold. The mounting is snow white.

Framed this lovely painting of a foal by Chris Winch. The frame is natural wood grain painted slate grey. The painting is double mounted with an ivory mount over a light blue, and AR70 anti-reflective glass.

This Quilling artwork was framed into a deep frame moulding with AR70 anti-reflective glass.
Anti-reflective glass gives a sharp and clear look to artwork and photos by greatly reducing reflections and glare. It also gives a certain amount of UV protection depending the quality of glass chosen.

Box framed a Voldemort wand, signed by Ralph Fiennes.
The box frame houses the original presentation box that the wand was presented in. This way the everything is preserved (all in one place)

They are framed onto an Oak veneer tray frame with a 5mm space between the artwork and the frame

Plain Woods are some of the most popular mouldings at present because of their versatility. and the option to stain with a wide variety of finishes. Plain woods are available in Oak, Ash, Tulip, Koto, Obeche, Pine, Beech and Lime. If you do decide on plain wood, one thing that you should always be aware of is that plain woods can vary both in grain and colour.

Also, very popular are the Black or White mouldings. These come in many finishes from smooth to grainy and matt to glossy.

I have just finished refurbishing this beautiful antique Art Nouveau sterling silver photo frame measuring 26 cms x 20 cms with the opening measuring 14.5 cm x 10.5 cm across.

It's hallmarked for Birmingham 1904 with the silversmiths mark for Gourdel Vales & Son.

This is a lovely water colour painting by the renowned Newmarket artist Jacquie Jones. Suzanne asked me to assist with choosing a suitable colour for the mount and style for the frame. The overall size is 50cm x 60cm with anti-reflective / UV protective glass. (Shared with Suzanne’s kind permission.)

Here is a giclée on canvas of a painting by Chrissie Hawkes. The job entailed stretching the giclée onto a frame and mounting to a bespoke floating frame.
Chrissie is an artist who paints in an abstract and intuitive style which gives her the freedom to go with the flow and allows her to play with texture and colour.
