We were successful in our tender to complete the construction of a new car park in Epping, Essex.

The scope of works included:

New entrance with sensor controlled gates ✅️

250m of precast concrete kerbs ✅️

800m² of type 1, binder course and surface course asphalt ✅️

80m² of shingle walk ways ✅️

Our 2nd rear garden patio completed in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire 👌🏼

We were approached to install a raised indian sandstone patio and topsoil the garden to suit new level.

There was an existing smaller retaining wall built by a previous contractor. We added to this wall to build up level to the rear doors. ✅️

We then infilled the patio with MOT type 1 and compacted in 150mm layers. ✅️

We built a single step using engineering bricks and placing Indian sandstone slabs on top. ✅️

We installed an ACO slotted drain to the rear of the patio so any falling water was directed away from the property. ✅️

We laid the Indian sandstone slabs on a sand/cement mortar mix. Before this was done we applied PVA to the bottom of the slab to help adhesion. I TOLD YOU BEFORE! ALWAYS PVA THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SLABS! If you don't your slabs will be rocking and popping! ✅️

Once the main patio was done we topsoiled the existing garden to bring the garden to the patio level. We then applied grass seed. ✅️

Both client and contractor are very happy with the finished project! 👏🏼

Rear garden completed in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire 👌🏼

We were asked to strip out the existing garden and install an Indian sandstone patio area and turf the garden.

Due to the height of the rear doors we had to build the patio level up; meaning we had to build a retaining wall from concrete blocks. ✅️

The client wanted a smooth finish to match the house so we rendered the wall and painted with chalk white paint. ✅️

The patio area was infilled with MOT type 1 and compacted in 150mm layers. ✅️

We installed 2 sets of steps, 1 set by the rear doors and 1 stepping down from the patio to the grass area. These were built with blue engineering bricks as they tie in with the Indian sandstone beautifully ✅️

We laid the Indian sandstone on a sand/cement mortar mix. Before this was done we applied PVA to the bottom of the slab to help adhesion. I TOLD YOU BEFORE! ALWAYS PVA THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SLABS! If you don't your slabs will be rocking and popping! ✅️

Once the main patio was done we attacked the rear garden. Topsoil was laid to level out the existing area. We then laid freshly cut turf. ✅️

Once the turf was completed we finished the remaining path to the side garage. We installed an ACO slot drain to the path to stop any water falling against the neighbours property. ✅️

Both client and contractor are very happy with the finished project! 👏🏻

Double garden remedial drainage work completed in Epping, Essex 👌🏼

We were instructed by Epping Forest District Council to complete essential remedial works at a new build site in Epping.

The existing gardens had insufficient drainage and had sheds laid on a concrete base, which was lower than the ground level. 🆘️ Ladies and gentlemen, do not do this. If you learn one thing today, always leave an upstand or install some form of drainage system around your shed base!

We excavated a 1m³ soakaway and installed land drains across and down both gardens. ✅️

We broke out and excavated the old low shed base and replaced it with a new base 100mm higher than the ground level. ✅️

The sheds were dismantled, repaired and reassembled including new floors and new roof felt. ✅️

New topsoil was laid and levelled before we laid new turf. ✅️

We completed the works a few weeks ago and since then there has been no more flooding in the gardens! 👏🏻 Another successful project 🙌🏼

Paving and custom fabricated metal fencing completed in Waltham Abbey, Essex 👌🏼

We were approached by Epping Forest District Council to provide private patios for council tenants in various locations in Waltham Abbey. Above photos are of one of the sites we completed. ⚒️

We started by clearing all of the locations which included bushes, shrubs, decking, paving and grass areas. ✅️

We then excavated to a nominal depth of 175mm and carted all spoil to tip. ✅️

We laid 100mm of MOT type 1 and compacted with compactor plate. ✅️

We laid a 25mm sand/cement bedding layer. ✅️

We laid 600x600x50mm precast concrete paving slabs supplied by Marshalls. ✅️

Finally, we worked closely with Epping and a local fabricator to design and deliver the metal fencing panels. Each panel is made of 3mm mild steel, all welded and formed as one. We laser cut each panel to provide the leaf design and powder coated in a gun metal grey finish. We install these with postcrete fast setting cement applied to each post. ✅️

We are very happy with the finished product. Epping Forest District Council and the tenants of the properties are over the moon with the project. 😁

New communal tarmac path in Loughton, Essex 👌🏼

We were instructed to complete essential path repairs to this communal area in Loughton, Essex. The existing concrete paving slabs had become uneven over time and formed numerous trip hazards.

We raised the existing precast concrete paving slabs and carted them to our local recycling tip. ♻️

We installed a timber edging to demarcate the path and also retain the formation. ✅️

We laid 100mm of MOT type 1 stone. ✅️

We laid 50mm of 20mm DBM binder course asphalt and finished it off with 25mm of 6mm DBM surface course asphalt ✅️

To finish, we laid topsoil to the edges of the path and spread grass seed ✅️

Waltham Abbey, Essex 🏡

Beautiful Light Grey Indian Sandstone Paving completed for 😍

We regulated the existing MOT type 1 stone to give a slight fall towards the grass area.

We constructed a 600mm wide step the length of the bifold doors using blue engineering bricks.

We laid the paving on a concrete bed and applied PVA to the bottom of the slab. If you learn one thing today, ALWAYS PVA THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SLAB! This will prevent your slabs from popping in the future!

Once the paving was laid we gave it time to dry out before applying EASYJoint. If you learn one thing today, ALWAYS USE EASYJOINT! It is the simplest and cheapest way of filling in the joints of your paving. Simply wet the powder and brush into your joints, point the joint and wash off the remaining powder. 👌🏼

Finally we laid 10mm shingle to the border of the paving. We finished off the grass area with new premium topsoil and gel coated grass seed!

We are very happy with the finished product and so is the client 🙌🏼

Following our successful tender we were instructed to complete the construction of a new entrance wall to Mayfield School 🧱

Works Included:

Removal of existing fencing and shrubs and cart to spoil to tip. ✅

Excavate and pour concrete foundation. ✅

Build 10m long x 1.80m high 9" brick wall using Anglian Red Handmade Bricks with red brick dye. Finished with a creasing tile and brick on edge ✅

Lay 110mm ducting and install draw pit box for power to install lights to sign. ✅

Build timber sleeper planter to front of wall and infill with topsoil ✅

Lay Marshalls Saxon paving and Red Tactile paving to match existing. ✅

Property re-rendering completed in Loughton, Essex 🏠

We were instructed to complete render repairs to this property in Loughton, Essex. The existing render had completely failed which left the property open to the elements and susceptible to damp.

We erected scaffolding and got to work hacking off the remaining render. ✅

We installed HeliFix crack repair bars where required.✅

We installed a chemical DPC with a bell mouth render drip and 300mm plinth.✅

We applied render aid and roughcast render.✅

We applied a stabilising solution and finished the property with 2 coats of weathershield paint.✅

To finish, we installed new fascias, soffits, guttering and downpipes. ✅

Huge front and rear garden clearance completed in Harlow, Essex 👌🏼

We were instructed by Epping Forest District Council to clear one of their properties for new tenants. Have a look at the before and after photos! 📸

The rear garden was over 200ft long and was full with everything and anything you could imagine!
There were sheds, piles of rubbish, green houses, trees, old fencing, bikes, beds, computers... the list goes on!

We used our tracked mini digger to rip everything out into skips and muck away lorries.

We installed new chain link fencing to the boundary and laid topsoil in preparation for turf/grass seed.

A new concrete apron path was laid around the property and new timber side gate installed.

The front garden was over 50ft long. We cleared the rubbish, all the hedges were trimmed and topsoil laid to new turf/grass seed.

A big well done goes to the boys who worked hard turning it around in time for the council! 👏🏻

The existing paving was laid at different levels so we removed it all and laid this beautiful paving at one level. We laid ACO drainage with metal grates to finish the look. Timber sleepers were used to form planters.
