Make sure you have backed up your machine before you update.
And even more importantly know where your back up is to download it once done.
Not like my many early morning years in the 90’s of doing backups at 6-8 am on to large magnetic tapes
Been teaching this on the internet since 1998
It’s all about taking responsibility for your actions
And checking before you press send …..
Be aware of the sophistication of the latest scam ……

So today ….. I had to stop and think
i have an iphone so therefore i have a wallet with applepay set up.
ONLY ON AN IPHONE NOT A WEBSITE can you manage your information.
in a world where we are reactionary, remember to stop, think , before you act.
take responsibility for your own reactions!
NEVER
get anyone to prompt you to doing things with Finances and Passwords

Are you leaving the door open for hackers? Why are software updates important? Software updates are an important part of staying secure online. But why? You’ll often hear about the new features or performance improvements in a software update, but what isn’t talked about as o
So this text came through...
ALARM Bells
1 the web link
2 i dont bank with this company
3 their app confirms with phonecall 2 step verification call before a confirmation text
This is a simple sophisticated scam
NEVER click a link with added words on it to company name.
Always be mindful on how you react to texts
STOP
THINK
Only act if your 150% confident its legitimate
This has come direct from the police and neighbourhood watch
My priority is always people safety
As a former nhs computer systems manager I cannot believe the world has sunk so low to pray on the vulnerable like this.
Always be wary of emails, phone calls and text verify the source
And
Take responsibility for your actions too
If your ever unsure my pm or phone is always opens to advise on legitimate information
Warning ALWAYS trust the site or area you take downloads from .......
ANDROID users be aware
If you get sent this picture don't save it or it could brick your phone Samsung, OnePlus and Google Pixel owners beware of this image
Scammers versus us embracing technology
Technology is great when it’s used appropriately....
My training for 22 years always revolves about bring people back to fundamentals of safety.
A. think for themselves be logical
B. Take responsibility for your own actions
C. Trust your gut - question the logic
Never be afraid to ask questions
If someone is telling you about track and trace
1 you must have been somewhere to interact with them
2 this is an information warning system not an extortion of money system
3 if for your own safety.
Yes telephone calls or text are the way to communicate with you.
This is currently in use because you have interacted with someone for a period of time.
There is no way at this moment in time anyone will contact you for being in a crowd and you cannot identify on a technology app in the UK people around you with confirmed covid19 unless living on the Isle of Wight.
Please be mindful
Please think for yourself
Take responsibility for your actions
Stay safe
Be kind
Stay Alert
Wash your hands regularly

Email password top tips especially when going virtual.
For 22 yrs I have taught being secure on line
In the last 6 yrs technology has really brought to our pocket the virtual world by using tablets and smartphones
Attached is a link from the police about staying safe on line with tips about meeting up virtually.
Technology:- Apps, software are always linked to your email.
I always come back to this fundamental thing as the email is vital
The gov. Police always presume everyone has one ... uses it to get to Hmrc , dwp etc they have made it so that is the way to contact them- not always the case.
However my experience is people may have created one years ago they forget the password ... new phone seller creates a new one
Confusion happens as your friends are using your old one you feel unloved
And the new apps accept your phone number not just email.
Suddenly thier on FB 3 times which is the real one !
My speciality unpicking this sort of conundrum and getting you working smoothly with one email. I detract from my main messages
Email password is one of your most vital pieces of information to keep secure.
My top tips are:
1. Email password must be unique never use this password else where only to your email provider e.g gmail, iCloud or me com (Apple), hotmail or live or outlook (Microsoft) or your isp sky, talktalk, virginmedia, plusnet, etc to name a few
2 Prople get confused with joining an app or signing up to shopping or an interest using their email and use the same password as their @.....co.uk or @ ..... com one
No no no
Chose something different to the email provider.
3. Record or write down your passwords
There are many apps but I still advocate an a-z address book with physical writing.
Because you can have a disaster where you loose the technology, in an accident , fire or thieft what good is them stored on software on a device to you then
My family know if the house is on fire the book is saved more than anything else, as that is more important information than my phone or laptop as they can physically be replaced.
4. The basics of passwords is chose a small sentence and substitute letters with numbers and symbols
E.g
Thecatlikesfish as a password could read
Thec*tl1k35F15h
Or Purpleislucky =Purpl315!ucky
STAY SAFE on line
Keep talking for your wellbeing make it virtual and you can See them too
Enjoy keep socially distancing
Video conferencing – stay secure Building safer communities together
Contingency planing ....
I have older generation clients I have done online shopping for years .
I do this securely keeping financial integrity.
I’m rural Devon my family back up is to do this for family members in Southeast England if required as all his local backup team are retired people over 70. This member of the family has no internet no computer or tablet on line but a phone line to read me out his shopping needs.
Want to know how to set this up for your loved ones?
Pm ill, talk you through it.
Yes gov plan expects internet access it is possible to help your family members in a world where we are scattered across the uk.
Contact me to discuss how this works.
I’ve been teaching this since 1998 and the use of the internet.
We as individuals need to take responsibility for what we post, read or do.
As I have retrained as a therapist I see the flip side of what this irresponsible behaviour and inability to see boundaries, be accepting , learn to roll and scroll, not take it personally etc.
Seen the rise of catfishing, scams and generally causing distress ...
In the last 10 years society has handed so much
We communicate globally
Technology means we react quicker
Social media is there on our phone ... we think it is relative to us.
We are loosing control of ourselves, our own personal boundaries.
Nothing has a flick switch answer, nothing is black and white like a computer program on or off , right or wrong, black or white, there is always a grey area which is what makes us human We are all unique awesome and amazing
We are all individual.
We all have the right to freedom of speech
We cannot be reliant on social media platforms and apps makers to police it for us.....
That’s insane
In the uk I appreciate the government and society want change to reduce radicalisation and terrorism but everything in life at times are relative to every individuals human rights
Along with each country round the world having their own laws.
This is not the responsibility of others it the responsibility of ourselves to take control of our actions, feelings and seek appropriate help when we are in distress.
As a therapist and it trainer my pm are always open for finding strategies , coping mechanism, creating habits to enable you not to be feeling a victim or vilified for having your own opinion in a free world.
Practice this and you will be on the right Tracy for healthy interaction with others
Acceptance is key from you saying it and the reader reading it too as communication is a two way process
Started using computers in 1982 - check

BE AWARE
So in the aftermath of fb issues on 13th March 2019
14 March I get a messenger text see comments for copy of the text I received ...
Sharing, forwarding, post that are from others saying share
Always an alarm bell in my head
These type of text will have words, phrases and sentences in that people will mine and then if they want take things off your profile to do something unlawful
Always be mindful of your actions on the internet
STAY SAFE
Absurd 'Servers Very Busy' Hoax Circulating Rapidly After Facebook Outage - Hoax-Slayer According to this message, Facebook's servers have been very busy lately and the company is asking users to help by sharing the same message to everyone.
Online safety is key in my world
Child safety is a specialist area
On phone on tablet on laptop
I always go back to the basics and fundamentals which is GDPR compliant
Email is key
Not just settings on
ISP
Router
Browser
Let alone the apps you allow them on
Let’s do the responsible thing on line and take responsibility for our actions
As parents we have duty of care too.
Parenting means having your own family values and responsibilities
Peer pressure of friends is not good enough reason to let them have access to the online world as parents we need to start taking back control and putting in rules and boundaries to keep our minors safe
Items on line have an age suitability for a reason
Love this ...so true and what I’ve been telling people for a long time
Quit Designing Websites That Simply Look Good. Create Sites That Work. Form and function are both excellent objectives when you design your site. Just keep your priorities straight.

However, it has just been announced that the impact was, in fact, much worse as the massive data breach affected not just 1 bill...
