This site was built to assist the incredible Kate's Kakes to increase the growth of her wonderful cake business. Kate specialises in Celebration cakes but in reality, can turn her hand to most sweet treats, such as traybakes, cupcakes and brownies. Her cakes are often adorned with edible flowers and they are certainly easy on the eye. However their defining feature is that they taste phenomenal.

I see a lot of small businesses put off selling their products online because they want to keep things local and think that having their own site will mean they receive orders from all over the place but they only want to do local delivery!

In actual fact, they can have far more control over where their products can be bought than you might think. Radius shipping allows them to select their business location and set shipping rules for whatever distances they choose.

The website I built for Orchardlea Foods is one of the most intricate sites I’ve built so far but it has been a project I’ve loved being a part of and it’s really spring boarded me to where I am now.

Some of the key elements of this project:
- 700+ products including photography.
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
- Private customer portal.
- Mailchimp automatic email triggers & customer journey.
- Password protected downloads.
- Advanced sign up forms to automate onboarding.

I’ve been working with Orchardlea Foods for a couple of years now and really enjoy all the individual project we’ve worked on including their rebrand from Isca Foods. This required a new logo, van design, exterior signage and of course, a new website.

We’ve also worked together to bring out their own range of Deli pots in which I designed the packaging.

All in all, they’re a brilliant local business and they support so many small businesses in the South West and it’s a pleasure to work with them.

Really pleased West Country Olives won gold in the taste of the west online retailer category. This award judges website quality and ease of use, especially the online order process.

The longer your site takes to load, the less chance you have of keeping a potential customers interest.

When browsing the internet, people don't want to wait ages for a website to load, especially when there are plenty of super fast sites out there.

Luckily, there are a few simple things you can do to speed up your site such as optimise your images, use a reputable hosting provider and make sure you have some type of caching system/plugin installed.

Have you seen the vans driving around the South West?

This was one of my designs from last year and I’m very happy with how it turned out. Shout out to who wrapped the van, brilliant job.

As you can see, Orchardlea’s sister companies and are also referenced on the back panel.

I’m pleased to be able to showcase my latest project, www.alteredperspectivespllc.com.

It was a real pleasure working with Altered Perspectivespllc and I’m very happy with the website and logo we managed to create.

It was a slight learning curve for me, as this was the first time I’d worked with someone outside of the UK and it was very interesting navigating the different challenges that posed.

On the whole I’m really pleased with what we achieved and I think it’s perfectly aligned with the client's vision and goals.

www.westcountryolives.co.uk was the first professional site I built and is still one of my favourite projects.

This is an e-commerce site, set up to sell olives online. All orders are automatically uploaded to Royal Mail’s despatch service, making the whole process very easy to manage from a business perspective.

I also designed their product packaging, business cards and a product brochure to be sent out to customers.

One of my favourite things about building this site was that I did much of the product photography myself which is something I really enjoy.
