Waking up slowly today.
Here’s most of the vocal chain for a song I’m currently mixing for using some of my favourite plugins 👌🏻
Studer A800>Logic Pro De-esser>Neve 1073> F6 EQ>LA-2A>1176
with the Galaxy Echo on a send.
The different 1176 emulations are fast becoming my favourite compressors😍
I’m also loving mixing on my SRH840As that I recently bought to replace my previous pair of SRH840s which lasted about 11 years of mixing countless gigs, tracking and mixing music in the studio and at home and all the listening I did otherwise, so I’m hoping this pair works just as hard!:)
This place is cool:)
Nice to see this robin returning to the garden repeatedly collecting nest material and food:)
Spring is here!:)
I’m still working my way through The Artist’s Way and it’s incredible way to not only unleash restricted creativity, but also to understand myself better. I’m not quite keeping up with my weekly tasks (the 12 week course may turn in 36 at this rate!) but I don’t see that as a bad thing!
I’m learning a lot about myself and the Morning Pages routine has been extremely beneficial as a way of reflecting, problem solving and coming up with new ideas.
I’m probably 4 or 5 weeks in and highly recommend.
Enjoyed a peaceful walk around Ostler’s Plantation earlier. We could hear some birds but didn’t see much wildlife, a pair of buzzard circled above us at one point but it was nice to take some time to photograph some still life.
Starting my year strong with a mix for a Portuguese artist 👌🏻

Happy New Year all! All the best for 2024!
It’s been a year filled with gigs and music, work & fun and I’m looking forward to another year of it all and plenty of new adventures.
Thanks to everybody and everything that’s made this year great!
Don’t know how I ended up with such a muted colour when posting this previously but here is last week’s kingy but a slightly more zingy.
Very lucky to have seen this kingfisher yesterday within the 10mins or so that I had at nature reserve. On arrival made a comment that ‘they’re usually here’ and within a few seconds two flew past us along the river!
This shot was taken on our way back to the car a few minutes later and though not expecting to see one again so soon, it posed for us for a few more seconds.
Ace time at with my dad earlier this week. So cool to have an insight into their journey as a band and the world around them. Such a coincidence to have timed our visit with the release of Now & Then - I love the new song and the story behind it!
Jacket - Don’t Eat Crystal
I tracked my guitar parts at home with my Strat straight into as DI signal to allow me some flexibility to shape my tone later.
and I re-amped the parts using an Orchid Amp Interface, straight into my Hot Rod Deluxe utilizing the bpm-synced FX from Logic Pro.
My live tone is crafted by my pedals:
The Tube Screamer, and Flashback Delay and Ensemble King chorus for clean tones, with a hefty dose of DS-1 for the choruses.

I’ve seen this kestrel hunting around the lakes back home on numerous occasions, I took this photograph on Christmas morning!:)
Merry Christmas everybody!:) Here’s a little bit of White Christmas by Bing Crosby!
This young jay posed for me for a little while back in June, looking so confident and majestic with its bright wing feathers:)
Such a great evening seeing perform at

Looking forward to playing this tonight at with NJ and
Here’s a demonstration of how I have turned this simple, one-stringed instrument called an ektara into a sample instrument with multiple pitches, meaning that I can construct melodies from its recorded sound! It has a unique and organic sound; unprocessed, it is twangy and percussive, but with some minor processing, some rich, warm sounds can be made like the opening chords in this track.
Let me know what you think!:)
Thanks to and his extremely resourceful YouTube channel, where I found the how-to videos for Logic X’s Sampler! It’s a fantastic guide!
Feeling happy to have this track near completion, final guitar parts recorded this evening!:) Ready for tracking vocals and saxophone 🎙 🎷
‘There’s Got To Be Something’ - John’s theme
I’d love to know what you think of when you hear this melody. What images are conjured up in your mind?
Had a lovely time this evening writing saxophone parts with my sister for my jazz track Red Flags which will feature in
Archipelago
I revisited this guitar part that I started writing as an instrumental about a year ago and I couldn’t think of a name for it, but yesterday I came up with some lyrics for it and I can’t wait to work on it some more:)
I think I will call it Archipelago, which is fitting because at the time I wrote the music, i was reading Earthsea.
Let me know what you think!:)
