UBL or Unified Bed Levelling is a firmware feature in many FDM printers to overcome imperfections in the physical surface of the printing bed. Using a digital probe and some clever maths, the internal software is able to create a virtual map and smooth out any peaks or troughs. This ensures a reliable first layer and a successful print.
