❤️💛❤️One thing you do all know is how much I love teaching Spanish, but here are a few other interesting facts you may not already know about me…

1️⃣ As well as being a Mum, I’m also a proud cat mum to my two cute cats (Oti and Shaggy) 😻🐱
2️⃣ I’ll be performing in a play called ‘Commotion Time’ at Exeter Northcott Theatre throughout October!🎭
3️⃣ Before starting my career in teaching, I used my Spanish skills whilst working as a Real Estate Agent in Barcelona as well as working in Spanish telesales.☎️🏠⛪️🏫🏩
4️⃣ I’ve just taken up Tennis (although I’m not any good…yet!)🎾
5️⃣ I can also speak German … “Ja wirklich!” 🇩🇪😲
(My degree was in both languages and I’ve lived in Berlin before too.)

💪𝑨𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒔-𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒌𝒊𝒅𝒔 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔 have gone from strength to strength since I launched in January, and I am thrilled to see so many parents recognising the value of their children learning this important life skill. 🤩

I know that children learn best through play and when they’re having fun. That’s why I teach Spanish through interactive songs, games, role-plays, and other activities so that the children enjoy the sessions and don’t even feel like they’re learning!

I’ve gained plenty of teaching experience since completing my PGCE over a decade ago and I love teaching Spanish. Having travelled and lived in Spanish speaking countries, I know the difference that speaking Spanish made to me with making new friends, understanding the cultural customs, and finding work. I aim to pass on my genuine enthusiasm for Spanish to all my ‘Amiguitos’ so that they can one day experience this themselves.

My classes are based around the resources from the award-winning La Jolie Ronde, who are specialist providers of Spanish language teaching resources for children aged 0-10. With over 40-years’ experience in this industry, they are the proven experts.

I keep my class sizes small so that each child can get the individual attention they need to learn and succeed at their own pace.

The parents of the children who attend my under 5s class are given vocabulary sheets each week and can purchase the songs for the course to practise at home with their kids. The parents of my primary aged pupils get regular updates on what we’re learning, access to all the songs and audio files for the course and an activity book to reinforce the learning at home with their children.

🏖¡FUIMOS A LA PLAYA! 🏖

😁¡Nos divertimos mucho! 😁

I had a great time delivering my summer session yesterday at St Thomas Library as part of their summer holiday activity programme. It was lovely to see so many new ‘amiguitos’ enjoying our imaginary trip to ‘la playa’🏖. We had lots of fun searching the room for items to pack in our suitcase 🩱👘👒👓🧳, making ‘pasaportes’ and boarding ‘el avión’ ✈️as well as playing plenty of games and learning how to order ‘un helado’🍧🍨 in Spanish.

🌼I’d like to say a special GRACIAS to 🌸for asking me to run this session. It was a real joy! ☀️That was the final session of the summer, but Autumn term classes will resume in September.

Last week I said 👋‘hasta luego’👋 to my 'amiguitos' in my primary Spanish classes in our final class of the summer term.

We topped off our topic of food and drink with an imaginary trip to an Ice Cream shop 🍧🍨🍦. The kids really enjoyed role-playing buying and selling ice-creams and even got to taste different flavours. ¡Qué delicioso! 😋...which is very topical as today is National Ice Cream Day 'el día del helado'.

It was also nice to hear from the kids themselves about what they’ve been enjoying most in my classes – which resoundingly included the 🎲fun games, catchy songs🎼, and interactive role-plays👥.

🇪🇸 I’ve loved teaching this class and I’m looking forward to building on their progress and most importantly, having lots more fun in September! 🤩

❤️I ABSOLUTELY LOVED 💛delivering my first Spanish under 5’s session at Nook Play café yesterday!

Although it was a bit of a squeeze, the atmosphere was great, and the kids seemed to really enjoy our imaginary trip to the zoo. They had a great time pretending to wash💦 and feed 🌿🥩🍌‘los animales’ including ‘🐅tigres, 🐊cocodrilos, 🐘elefantes, 🐧pingüinos y 🦒jirafas’ and I was very amused by their enthusiastic animal impressions! 🎼As usual we also sang lots of songs with 🪇instruments and actions, we played parachute games 🌈
and we read a story about Caramelo’s trip to the zoo.

It was fantastic to see so many new 👶🧒
👧‘amiguitos’ 😁smiling, joining in, and having fun! Receiving fabulous feedback from several of the parents who attended was the icing on the cake too! 🧁💯

👶👧👦This week in my toddler Spanish class we all went on an imaginary trip to ‘la Playa’ 🏖 with ‘Ositio Caramelo’ 🐻.

We had lots of fun pretending to swim in ‘el mar’🌊whilst escaping from ‘el tiburón’🦈, we met lots of ‘cangrejos’ 🦀🦀 and imagined that we were🐟 ‘peces pequeños’🐠🐟 under the sea. Parachute games, songs, instruments, bubbles, toys, stories and more!😁

😍I love seeing the toddlers grow in confidence each week and seeing the look of joy on all their faces! ✨
