There might still be 12 sleeps until Christmas, but here is a preview of our festive opening hours and clubs:

Sat 23rd: Open 10am-10*pm. Usual RB Club 2-4pm
Sun 24th: Open 11am-8pm. RB Club 12-2pm & SQ Club 2-4pm
Mon 25th: Closed
Tue 26th: Closed
Wed 27th-Fri 29th: Open 2.45-10pm*
Sat 30th: Open 10am-10pm*. Usual RB Club 2-4pm
Sun 31st: Open 11am-6pm (No squash club session)
Mon 1st: Closed

Its Cup Week, Racketball Club Champs week, and Xmas draw week at the D&E!! Due to a withdrawal there is still one space in the Racketball Champs... contact Curtis to get involved!
Draw tickets are available to buy from the bar or from Steph via message!

This week we have our final league matches of the year, with just cup matches to go next week! Its a bit night for Squash 5 on Wednesday as their game against Dartington 1 decides who wins the division!!

On Saturday we have our annual Junior Christmas Party 10.30-1, with a bouncy castle, challenges, games, a buffet, and some special visitors! Open to all of our juniors and member's children. Please let Steph know by Thursday if you are coming!

Plenty coming up at the D&E this week as usual, plus on the weekend its time for the Squash Club Champs 2023!! Plenty of fab squash to come along and watch....

STL 2023 concludes this week!! Please do pop along to support the Semi-Final teams tonight and tomorrow, and remember everyone is invited to the Finals & Awards on Friday night! Don't forget, if you took part in STL in any way you might be up for an award, and even if you aren't the Final itself should be reason enough to come along!! Not to mention the BBQ!!

We have a little break from games this week to allow Captains time to rally their troops (and for us to refurbish court 5!)

A strong win from ALC and WareEdwards Letting…. The final semi final spot has been taken!

Semi-Finalist #3: RMP Landscaping win the third spot with a 33-24 win!

Our second Semi-Finalist; Fouache Performance!!! A nice little 29-21 victory over A*. Well done all!

We have our first semi finalist! Close match all down to the last game….

Cricket Club v D&E Squash Club Match Report (by Rob Watkins)

The annual club match started with beers all around of course! The super stars from the Cricket Club had the pads on first; they were pigged back all through the innings with some good bowling from Micheal Giles and Jack Maidment. At 15 overs they only had 88 runs, but some great batting from Jonathan Tipper, Pete Hensor and Richard Goldsworthy got the score to 144/7 from 20 overs….

Old and young started well with Max Cockram scoring 25 no and Luke Bishop (captain) following with 27 no, then the cricket club had Jonathan Webber 23 out. After 12 overs we were 100/3. A great batting performance from Ted Russell (25 no) saw the score getting close, but on came their best bowlers in Matt Williamson, Tipper and Hensor. With the light fading fast and the D&E needing 6 off the last over, Clive Miller ran a suicidal run!! This left Michael Giles hitting the winning runs with only 2 balls left!

A great night after with beers and burgers! Thanks to Steph Watkins and Graham White (captain of cricket club), for organising, and thanks for everyone who played in and supported this great event.

Wow.. busy week coming up!! STL Quarter Finals, Golf Society Day, UK Racketball Series, Sept relaunch of Junior 101 and SquashTots, AND a Regional Junior Training & Graded Day!!

Unfortunately due to the annual Racketball Series visit there will NOT be a Saturday Racketball Club Session on the 9th, but the Weds and Sun sessions will run as normal.

A fabulous 33-19 win for Straw Hangers over Gregorys Water Services means the Hangers win the top half of the draw! A great debut for a new team with a new captain!
