In his encyclical Laudato Si Pope Francis tells us,
“Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience.”
As we celebrate the 8th Anniversary of his “letter” to the world, we have a wonderful opportunity to see his film, “The Letter” and to reflect on how we care for our common home and for the poorest in our world. We would love to see you there, bring a friend!

Saving money on heating and Caring for Our Common Home (Laudato Si’). Whether we’re worrying about fuel bills or the climate crisis, this seems like a good time to revisit ways to cut our energy use. Heating uses a lot of energy, so we can make a difference by turning down the temperature to which we heat things and heating things for less time. Here are some things we can do. Turn down the thermostats on our heating systems by 1o C. Heat rooms we’re not using less. Turn down the temperature of the washing machine to 30o C and do one wash fewer per week. Take showers, not baths. Limit time spent in the shower to 4 minutes, or take fewer showers. Stop using the tumble-drier.
