Morehall Primary School offers a wealth of opportunities and enrichment activities to open every door

PE and Forest school will start from tomorrow and continue throughout the whole school year. Forest school is on a two week rolling timetable that will run for the whole year.
Week A weeks start on 2nd September, 16th September, 30th September and 14th October.
Week B weeks start on 9th September, 23rd September, 7th October and 21st October.
We look forward to seeing you back at school tomorrow for the first day of Term 1.

Morehall Primary's Term 6 round up of our "Good News", to celebrate all of the wonderful things that have been happening at Morehall this term.
We hope that you have a lovely Summer Holidays and we look forward to seeing you back on Wednesday 4th September.
Community Day at Morehall Primary.
The classes have been up to lots of different activities today.
We have delivered care packages and decorated mugs to our neighbours in the community, been litter picking, helped out at the Community Network on Cheriton High Street, been singing with the Head Strong Choir at Wood Avenue Library and visited Folkestone Care Centre. Tomorrow we will be dropping off decorated bookmarks to Cheriton Library.
Turner School's Art Exhibition.
Children throughout the Trust worked together to create different animals and their environments from across the world.
Morehall won Best KS1 and neat KS2 artwork. ๐จ
Year 3 have been learning to swim for four terms this year. Last week, they all tested themselves to see how far they could swim. They all did amazingly and achieved a swimming award. ๐โโ๏ธ๐
Sports Day -
The children all took part in running races and relay races during the afternoon.
Overall Leas were the winners of Sports Day.
Well done to everyone for taking part and supporting each other. ๐

The children have been taking part in a carousel of challenges to earn points for their houses this morning. They have all done really well at the different activities and supporting their team mates. This afternoon, they will be taking part in the class races and relays.
The Year R's have been busy decorating mugs ready for their Community Day tomorrow. They can't wait to go out and deliver them to our neighbours around the school tomorrow.

Rock Steady Concert.
Another incredible performance from our Rock Steady groups to the school and their families. We can't wait to hear what new songs you will be learning next term. ๐ผ
Year 1 visited Kent Life.
They met Florence Nightingale and learnt about her early life and her dreams of becoming a nurse. Year 1 also had time to explore the rest of the grounds at Kent Life.
The Year 6's have been working incredibly hard on their leavers play, Aladdin. They performed to the school on Wednesday and then their families and friends yesterday and today.
They have worked together and put on 3 amazing shows. Well done to all of Year 6, Miss Long, Mrs Bowers and everyone else who has help the show be a success. ๐ญ
Year 6 had a fab time at Clip and Climb in Dover. They were all really brave climbing all the different walls and jumping off the ledge. ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ง
Year 4 enjoyed a vicious viking drop down day. They had a typical viking meal and made fantastic shields.

Online parent workshops during the Summer Holidays.
The online workshops offer information around key topics to help understand
what is going on for your child and strategies to support them, based on the
latest evidence and practice.
The Summer Reading Challenge has begun at our local libraries.
The challenge is to read 6 books over the Summer.
If any children would like to participate, please pop along to our local library or visit https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/ to sign up.
Once the children have completed the challenge, they can visit the library to collect a medal and certificate.

15th July - 19th July
All after school clubs finish on Thursday 18th July (there is no Charivari or Football club this week). From Friday 19th July, the only after school provision will be MASH. There will be no MASH on the last day of term (Wednesday 24th July), due to the early finish.
This week the school has had a visit from the RNLI to teach the children about water safety before the Summer Holidays and learnt some life saving tips.
Folkestone Primary is holding a Coffee Morning on Friday 19th of July. This is an open event for parent/carers and the local community to gain an insight into family support and what the local area can offer for vulnerable families and pupils with SEND.

The Charivari Parade is on Saturday 13th July, meeting at 1.30pm on The Stade.
**District Champions**
We are so proud to announce that our incredible Morehall Athletics team were crowned Middle School champions at the district sports on Wednesday, for the 2nd year running! We ran, jumped and threw to victory. We are so proud of them all for these amazing achievements and for the strongest parent cheerleading team on the night! Go Team Morehall!!! ๐๐ฅ

Each Friday Morehall provides all the children the option of a bagel as they come into school. The children have loved having bagels on a Friday. What a great way to start to the last day of the school week!
