Hi! :) ben millbery here...professional singer and vocal coach, qualifying with a bachelor of arts degree specialising in vocal studies.
I'm not here to grade people or put them through assessments. Grades and are for people wishing to enter the teaching side or whos parents want certificates to hang on the wall. More important to me is enjoyment and the ability to show that enjoyment to others through the power of performance the greatest assessor is our public, whether you're singing on the karaoke round a friend's house or doing a sellout tour. The only things i focus on in our sessions are, to maintain tuneful and healthy singing, and to think about the lyrics as you sing them. Every song tells a story. As singers it's our place to tell that story. Your emotional interpretation is what will make your version of a song stand out from any other.
