Tonight’s fiery Leo Moon marks the height of the lunar cycle. How we are feeling is likely to be magnified, and emotions polarised and yet within all the feels we may recognise a golden thread pulling us to step out into the light.
Essential oils can buoy us and transmute moon states of mind. Frankincense, honoured for its healing qualities, has been used in holistic spiritual practices since ancient times.
Beneficial inside and out, frankincense boosts our skin, immune system, and mood.
Drop a little on a tissue, in our palms, chest, with a blank oil for massage or as Leo is a fire sign why not add it to a candle or burn it as a resin and incense.
We can raise our vibrations further by blending the frankincense with orange sweet or bitter then adding a confidence building tiger’s eye into tonight’s rituals and really ignite our creative grrrrrr.
Sunday. As the moon waxes so do we. We are activating our vision and expanding as we ready a roar.
Electric blue Jupiter candle (from ,) citrine and green cardamom pods to celebrate the seam between winter days.
Amazing Full Moon in Leo incoming.

This dish of joy deserves an elevated photoshoot, back light through a haze, but it was so delicious we just ate it.
Maybe not even a recipe, we squashed two overripe bananas, sprinkled over about a cup of oats, two tablespoons of chia seeds, two cups of frozen berries, coconut, one and a half cups of milk, and a dash of vanilla powder.
Bake until golden (you can add a k**b of butter or coconut oil if you fancy) and serve with cream if it’s dinner or yoghurt if it’s breakfast (shhh!).
We’re already thinking about making it with apples and pears in the place of berries, maybe cacao powder and extra coconut another, or cacao and almond butter splodes.
Don’t stop me! Enjoy xx
Ayurveda isn't just about your body. It is a holistic approach to living that can help us incorporate elements of living consciously and compassionately in our lives without changing everything about how we are living.
Sattva is the essence that brings about balance and harmony. It is one of the three subtle qualities or gunas that exist in all of nature. If we can nurture the ability to see how our doshas work, we can better understand our doshic qualities inside and outside of ourselves.
Today we are walking, listening, observing and feeling into the qualities of the world around us and not just the words that define them.
Shall we speak more about this?
As the meadows transform their winter wings to so do we. These early morning snowdrops, full of hope, tell us change has already begun.
Ayurveda and Ayurvedic can be words that sound really complicated, but sprinkling some of this ancient wisdom for holistic wellbeing in our lives can easy-peasy and oh-so beneficial.
It’s all about balancing and keeping it simple.
Raw apples are astringent, (so Vata aggravating), which can increase dryness, coldness and tooting. (Pitta and Kapha dominant doshas will also find them swayed by these Vata qualities at this times of seasonal change.
By adding simple warming spices and cooking them, we can transform apples into a tridoshic (good for everyone) extravaganza.
Chop your apples and pop them in a pan (with a splash of water if you need) with your chosen spices and cook for 15 minutes. We love ours with sweet cinnamon for a family-friendly option, but sometimes I'll add cloves, ginger and turmeric to mine (to balance Kapha). A splash of Rosewater (to reduce Pitta) is wonderful and dreamy. A spoon of vanilla and dash of honey (for my graceful little Vata) and/or cardamon can shift energy and provide much-needed grounding.
Eat this warm in the morning for a classic ayurvedic dish to help with digestion, boost agni or if you are feeling under the weather.
What will you add to your apples?
New Moon in Aquarius and we are holding our vision loosely and expanding into it.
It’s a night to have wild dreams. We may even recognise we are dreaming when we are deep in it and do a little deeper.
Life is shifting and we don’t need to jump right back into it and negate the roads we have run.
We just need to tap into the seer inside us and see.
Placing an amethyst or a clear quartz on our third eye, rub basil and mint in our hands and let’s dip into different states of consciousness.
Today is the last day to join January’s Rewild & Ritual holistic subscription box to opens our minds and hearts to quieten and receive.

Coconut flour and an kew are being devoured as I type.
These gentle bronze discs are delicious, easy to make, and a great alternative.
We use a cup of coconut flour, a pinch of baking powder, 2 eggs, a cup of yoghurt, and a little water to make the consistency sit right.
Let the batter sit for a few minutes (the coconut flour really absorbs the moisture), then melt a little butter, ghee or coconut oil in the pancake pan and whisk in.
Cook on a medium heat as normal. There can be tricky to flip so we don’t make them too big.
Etta is team lemon and sugar, but I like to stack mine with butter and maple syrup, what about you?
We are many things, We are everything. Sometimes we need to let the noise lift and listen closer to the melodic beat, pulsing through us all.
Next time you wander past a mirror - breathe, speak, repeat, with love.
1. Mushroom - I AM A CREATIVE BEING. My spark becomes a flame.
2. Moss - I AM BECOMING. My every breath embracing expansion.
3. Maple - I AM WHOLE. My shadow and my light.
Which card calls you today?
As we begin a new year, we are creating space to connect deeper with LISTENING. January’s holistic subscription box opens our minds and hearts to quieten and receive.

Deep LISTENING is a process of learning that requires us to suspend judgment and willingly open ourselves to receive.
We take a full breath. Place our active hand on our heart. Choose a card.
Book mark this to comeback later today for the reveal.
The subtle energy of the senses is rooted in the larger elements of air, earth, water, fire and space which align with the most dominant parts of our constitution (combinations of kapha, vata, pitta) becoming our most sensitive ways to perceive and experience life.
Winter is ruled by Kapha and in its frosty depth we will all experience this energy in different ways and more strongly depending on our individual constitution.
Too much Kapha can create slow moving, bloat, congestion, tiredness, feeling down, a lack of motivation, a need to hoard objects or comfort eat.
This morning we are balancing Kapha vibes by seeking morning light and dropping eucalyptus oil in our boots.
Do you feel Kapha?
The moon, a drop of night lit water,
full to ache and breathless.
Her bed, winter laid, a den for wolves and kelpies,
conspiring for our senses.
I tilt my swollen face to hers, with knowledge of the dream,
where I rose up, touched her crown and I became a queen.
Full Moon Cancer protuberant beyond wildest dreams, is calling us into an eighteen month cycle lit with eclipses and transformation as the moon shifts into physical and instinctual experience of the Ta**us - Scorpio axis .
We take out our crystals and place them in the mudded earth, pour water in a bowl, bathe beneath her beauty, and sleep with an open soul.
Today we treat ourselves and our loves with kindness, nourish, caress and rest.
We are LISTENING.
Making a natural mask part of your skincare ritual has many benefits and they’re not all skin deep.
Creating a moment to gently prepare a mask is igniting a holistic experiment which gifts your well-being as well as your cheeks.
We light a candle and get still. We breathe and find something wonderful to feel about ourselves. Something tiny, something limitless we nurture in the moment.
Here we are readying our Goddess Mask. A little water added to the divine mix of pink clay and organic coconut milk to make a paste that is great for all skin types.
Mindfully we paint our face, feeling the sensations of love and care as we do.
When we are ready, we run a face cloth in warm water and gently rub off in circular motions.
Our skin will feel heavenly (for extra specialness on a Sunday we often add a little honey, yoghurt, a cooled camomille tea or a splash of rose water) and our hearts will feel lighter and more peaceful.
You don’t have to have our Goddess Mask to be a goddess. There are lots of things you can find in your kitchen to smush on your smoocher with loving intention (and you can always flick back to our kitchen beauty series for inspiration).
Let’s give ourselves and our beauty a moment to breathe.
We are here, between frozen dew, with heat rising from our bones and our breath becoming mist.
Our transformation is not into someone or something else, but our raw, shameless, selves.
Yes, it’s because of Venus, our external and interior worlds ebbing with electricity, and Mercury’s retreat means our words may be not quite right.
This year has begun with many endings and a magical surrender hiding, a collective connected energy we are all expanding in.
I’m not quite there, but I am moving, slowly, wildly and with joy.
Today we are nourishing our bodies with baths, oils and tea, in preparation for tomorrow’s clearing when we will burn with ceremony.
How are you feeling? It’s been a little while.
On Friday 7th January .vastu.art is having a party to open his Emerging Environments exhibition which will run throughout the weekend, before we finish our pop up space.
There will be galette des rois, nibbles, cider, joy and art to take make you hum.
You are all invited.

On the first day of January we always eat lentils for luck and prosperity. Each perfectly tiny plump representing a seed, a coin, a chance.
It’s a simple tradition but we love thinking about it (from mid December actually), cooking it and eating it.
A little oil, a few handfuls of lentils, an onion and some spices and everything else is really so optional.
Brown an onion in oil, add cinnamon, cumin, coriander, salt and pepper (garlic and bay leaves of you like) and roll the lentils in this base until they shine.
Add water (or some red wine - I do, a stock cube if you need to- I don’t) and simmer on the absolute lowest heat until the lentils are sticky, sweet and infused with golden attars too delicious to resist.
If you like add a little butter or serve it with rice (you can even cook it in) but we eat ours just as it is in bowls with spoons on a beautifully set table with lighted candles, crackers and crystals, realising dreams for the coming year.
Do you have any traditions for New Year’s Day?
New Year's Eve can sometimes feel like we are experiencing all the moons in one night. The urgency of New to Full and Wax and Wane becomes a pressure that banishes the pleasure (and Venus is still in retrograde).
On January 2nd 2022 we move into the wild month of the wolf moon. There will be coldness and introspection, but there will also be possibilities, opportunities and Jupiter shining in Pisces almost all year.
So let's not put the pressure of transformation onto one night, it doesn't even work that quickly for butterflies, let's find pleasure in the eve's night and acknowledge our process of becoming can be as beautiful as the result.
For everyone who has supported, loved, sent good vibes and bought .vastu.art, in person and online, this year we thank you with whole hearts. Tonight we think of you and energetically extend love, light and magical wishes for the year to come.
We are preparing for the new year.
We are doing this with simple rituals that honour our journey, create sacred space and nourish.
By showing gratitude, abhyanga, gua sha, eating something delicious, sweeping, cleaning and just really shaking out any vibes (inside and outside of ourselves) that are blocking phenomenal vibrations.
A easy, simple ritual to energetically cleanse our home is with a small dish of salt.
We place salt in a saucer feel into our corners (physical corners of the space we are in and intangible corners within us), and make an affirmation.
Let any negativity or that which doesn’t serve our highest vibration be cleansed.
Leave any bad vibes in the salt dish, and the salt dish in the corner of the room, today until the same time tomorrow (January 1st) and then throw it away (outside).
Tune in for more rituals later today.
Do you feel it?

with bent legs and a battler red heart.
