We've got some rather splendid ham, roast chicken, beef, pork and good old corned beef for their sarnies! If they're into something more exotic our Coronation chicken is ace in a wrap🌯🥪👍

We've been on Kells Lane for over 50 years and the family business goes back to the 1930s!

Thanks to our neighbour who let me know the alarm was going off. I've driven through and all seems OK. Thank goodness. Sorry if it's getting right on your wick🙄

Only thing to report this morning is a full counter! Glad to say we only had to prep meat today and not clear up any debris- so we're open and ready to go!

We've had another attempted break in at the shop last night and have just seen they've got into Heritage Meats on Durham Road!

Life really is hard for small business owners atm and it's the last thing any of us need.

If you live locally please be vigilant and report any suspicious activity you hear or see to the police.

BBQ weather incoming this weekend. We can provide burgers to die for, sausage to make your mouth water, steak that cuts like butter, skewers and koftas full of flavour and of course chicken in all manner of ways!

We're having them with roasted veg and salad for tea tonight. There're top drawer 😊

In a bun, a stottie, brioche or good old white sliced bread, our burgers are always popular. Beef, pork or lamb- whatever takes your fancy 🍔
Chips or fries though? That's the question 🍟

What I didn't say when I thanked all of the people who showed concern after our break in was:

I found out as I was at the departure gate in Newcastle airport. Craig had the unenviable job of ringing me with the news, as I was literally minutes away from boarding the plane for a few days away.
You can imagine how that little gem started my holiday. I had to leave all the sorting out to Craig, Caroline, John and Paul. Making several phone calls to try and do what I could as soon as we landed was a nightmare.

I'm always grateful to my team, who shoulder the responsibility of the shop a couple of weeks a year so I can get away. This time however,they've gone above and beyond and I can't thank them enough!

Thank you to everyone who showed concern for my little empire yesterday. Especially those local businesses, who kindly offered help. It goes to show there are still decent people out there. The financial hit this sort of thing causes is horrendous but the wider ramifications, which can't always be quantified, go deeper. Once again, thanks to all those who showed concern or offered assistance.
